Picasso's Salon — Local services in South Hill

i went to get layers in my hair from Jessica and she did not layer my hair like the picture I showed her at all (which she only looked at for like 2 seconds). I told her I don’t want any length taken off the bottom of my hair because it’s taken me 2-3 years to grow my hair out and she told me she will have to take a very little bit off like half an inch so I told her that’s fine. Then when she finished she told me she took off more than that and asked if it was okay after she already cut it off. She took off about 4 inches of my hair and curled it nothing like the picture i showed her and didn’t even brush through the curls?? The picture I showed her the girl had like 5/6 layers in her hair and she gave me like two layers. She was a nice girl, but I broke down crying because it wasn’t what I wanted at all and I was so upset she cut off so much of my hair when I told her I did not want it cut off. I asked to speak to the manager and Ivan offered to fix my hair or give me a refund. He listened to me and was very nice and apologetic and fixed my layers and gave me what I wanted. He did a great job, of course he couldn’t give me back my hair that was cut off but he fixed my layers perfectly and understood why I was upset. I wish I could’ve gave the money I paid to him. I was very concerned about going to a new salon after more than 40 years of being in Richmond and then returning to a former stylist here in South Hill who unexpectedly closed their business. But Ashley at Picasso, who is a new graduate mind you, has done a fantastic job with both my color and my cut each time I have been there. Today she hit it out of the park! My hair came out even better than I had hoped. One of the things I most admire about her, in addition to her sweet nature, is that she is invested in, and unashamed about learning and doesn't hesitate to ask for help with a new technique. Went there they had 3 hair stylist in there which neither of them were cutting hair. I asked for a cut which would have taken no longer than 15 minutes. But instead they all replied with "we're slap booked up for the day..." lol well in my line of buisness when I can fit a job in to make a little extra cash you can bet I will. For them I'm sure that tips mean alot and best believe if they would have given me a cut they would have received a generous tip for working me in,...
