Mile High Fishing Charters — Local services in South Lake Tahoe

Checked reviews of charters sent a email to joby explained our situation when we could fish made a reservation for a date on 6am 6/20/2018. On 8 /1/I8 receved 2 emails that contradicted each other. Called him he said no worries just follow second email. Next I recieved a text on 8/7/18 at 5 :17 am Questioning starting time and payment of fishing trip this was unexpected as we had discussed this before 2 times in previous phone calls it was 7am and $900 for a charter. Fishing day! On 8/8/18 I texted joby at 630am that we were at the dock and ready as in the email it states where to go to get on the boat and he is in his car waiting. This text was returned to me .we have a 7 am start. I have fished on many many boats and have good and bad experiences but this whole trip was a disapointment. First fishing was horrible and while this can be expected joby never left a fishing area no less than a mile from shore. He later explained that he rotates his spots every 6 days and apologized for the poor fishing no refund or discount. I also have a problem when you charter a boat with no mate that the captain isnt doing everthing possible to produce fish. Joby moved the boat 3-4 time always within a 1/4 to 1/2 mile of our original spot. All the other charter boats left the area around 10 am we remained there till the end of the fishing trip. I am used to a working captain and if fishing is bad the captain picks up and rod tries to produce. What an amazing unforgettable trip! There was five of us on the morning half day trip which was from 6am to 10am. Several newbies and one who has never fished before, who caught the first fish! Captain Justin first went and set traps to catch some live bait and we went to one of his many fishing spots where we landed our first mackinaw. We caught our limit and released a small one. The boat was very clean and comfortable and there was plenty of room inside the heated cabin and outside while fishing. Complimentary water and soda was provided. Justin baited the hooks put us on top of the fish, netted the fish and cleaned the fish. All we had to do was reel them in. To top it off, he recommended taking our catch to Macduff’s who prepares the fish three different ways with sides. The best tasting, freshest fish ever! Mile high fishing charters was the best experience for myself and my group of four. It was our first time fishing lake tahoe and we had no clue what to expect or what type of bait or gear to use. We contacted mile high located at docks in the keys and set up a 6am to 11am charter. We didnt meet our captain Justin until the morning of the charter We were nervous not knowing how strict of a captain he would be but right off the bat he made us feel comfortable he did not rush us and he waited for us patiently for all 5 of us to finish using the bathroom. He was really layed back making sure we were having fun and answered any questions that we had.
