I went out on the Tahoe Star for a company party. There was about 15 people total and we went out in early September. It was a very luxurious and swift moving vessel. My coworkers had mentioned that this yacht was built by the owner of Harrah's Casino as his own personal cruiser for famous guests. I can see that as this thing was fast! There was charcuterie and beverages served in the cabin. The Star had some nice tables and seating for snacks and drinks. it was very easy to walk in through the cabin, grab some snacks and head out to join your peers elsewhere on the vessel. We had plenty of space to move from the deck, to the cabin, and to the captains helm. This was nice as everyone naturally gathered in groups and the extra space made it easy to mingle with various colleagues. Our voyage took us out to Emerald Bay. This was an amazing experience as you get a view of the bay that very few people get to see. What you do not realize from the highway or the hiking trail is you can view the bay itself, Vikingsholm, the mountains and an amazing angle of Eagle Falls in the distance! This is only something you can view from the water and a private yacht is the only way to experience this with 15 or more of your peers! On our way to Emerald Bay we stopped at Fannette Island and touched the fertility rock. I steered clear of this but it was great to see others participate in the ritual and have a great time learning about its mysterious past. Just watch out for the Ninja Squirrels that call this island their home (the captain can tell you all about them). On our way back we were caught in some foul weather and had plenty of cover to keep everyone dry. Oddly enough this was an awesome experience as the storm passed quickly (as most on the lake do) and left us an amazing view of sun rays and rainbows. The Yacht itself had everything you need for a great time on the water. There was two restrooms, a great sound system (with plenty of speakers), several spacious decks and lots of seating. I'd say anyone coordinating a group gathering on Lake Tahoe should keep the Tahoe Star on their radar as it is truly one of the most unique and accessible trips one could book that can...
