This is going to be a long review at the information in it is 100% accurate and not elaborated were exaggerated in anyway. I reserved 1786 high Meadow Trail for a Labor Day weekend getaway. This was a much needed getaway with myself and husband, and my children. The house looks beautiful online, Four bedrooms that sleeps 12 with all the amenities. When we arrived, my daughter told me after opening the door that I was not going to be happy. Walking towards the front door, nice first thing that jumped out at me was to rats running off of the bottom of the heavenly greased and filthy BBQ. I walked through the front door and the first thing that I noticed was how or if it smells coming from home. I'm in commercial property management, and there's a very distinct smell that comes from rodents that I have learned to pick up on immediately. The home was infested with rats and droppings throughout the home on the carpet, stove, table, sofa, bedrooms and stairs. I begin pulling my suitcase and had a very large tote in the other. As I walked into the living room I did not see the hole in the floor that was taped over the carpet with black electrical tape and I stepped in the hole and fell forward right now onto my knee and my wrist. After getting up and brushed it off, I took a video for a refund purposes, as I knew I would not be staying there. I really didn't know what I was going to do, my family... I had rented a pair of JetSki's for four days, bought groceries and we were fully loaded after driving 9 1/2 hours from Monterey, what are you gonna do when there's no availability anywhere around the lake? My foot didn't hurt me that bad when I was in the home. Not in till about three hours later, it was just tender and I was babying it quite a bit, but I was able to get around and walk through the house. I called and spoke with the manager, Shirley, she was very unsympathetic to me falling and my dissatisfaction of the home. I pleaded with her what do I do, we driven so far and where are we supposed to go out, and all she could say is "look if you're not happy here I'll refund your money but there's no availability on the lake." I became very aggravated with Shirley and told her I need your help and you had better find me another place because we can't turn around and drive all the way back to Monterey, we were all way too tired. Shirley called back about a half hour later and said she found another place with Caldwell banker, but I would have to pay an additional $400. At this point all I could do was pay the additional money so we would have a place to stay. The home that we rented was beautiful, but it cost more and took an additional four hours to finally get our bags through the front door. I was not able to go to the lake even one time, I had to stay indoors with my feet up icing my ankle to try to keep the swelling down. The top of my foot turned black and purple and swelled up three times the size, but since I could move it I didn't suspect it was broke. The morning I got home I went to see my doctor and they did an x-ray, and there wasn't any fractures, but clear visible signs of tissue injury and I have to be evaluated by an orthopedic doctor in two weeks if the pain doesn't subside completely. The pictures in this review show my foot today at the doctors office, you could still see the discoloration on the top and around the left side where the bruising is finally starting to go away, but there still significant swelling. I called this morning and spoke with Shirley again, requesting information on the insurance company so I can file a claim, and Shirley was rude to me again and with compassionate and said that she wasn't able to give me the information and said she'll have her boss call me back. When I told her about my foot all she could say was I thought you just tripped and fell! I asked again for the insurance company number and she said I don't have it, like I said I'll have my boss call you. If you rent from Tahoe Keys Resort, you're risking arriving in finding conditions the same as I...
Read moreTahoe Keys Resort has managed my property for 18 years. I live a long way from Tahoe (East coast) and this house functions as a vacation home for me and members of my family. I rent it out through Tahoe Keys Resort when I am not using the property. My house is a 40 year old house, and it is very worrisome to deal with renting a house like this from so far away and keeping it maintained and looking appropriate for rentals. Tahoe Keys gives me piece of mind as they not only take care of renting my property, but they also take care of maintaining inventory (flatware, silverware, small appliances), and they also advise me when anything breaks down, and do the due diligence for me to cost out the price of fixing large items. Once I okay a repair, they take care of arranging and ensuring that the work gets done. Lastly, they also advised me a couple of years ago that I was losing rentals because my house was not up to par with the décor of other Tahoe Keys houses. They spent several visits with me advising of alternative ways I could spruce up my house without costing me a fortune. I upgraded the house and I did much better on my rentals. This was very much...
Read moreThis is a rental agency, not a private owner. Expect very poor communication. Lisa decided to place us in another home, different from the one we rented, without notifying us. We did not know about this until we were standing in front of the actual home we had rented, and it was obvious someone else was already in the home. At this point we called Lisa AKA Tahoe Keys Resort, and her staff informed us we had been moved to a different listing and that we should have been notified, but they made a mistake. At this point we were essentially trapped in a bad situation. The new home at 569 Lucerne was dated and dingy. Clearly a party house. Broken glass in the cloudy hot tub. Mildew all over the room that contains the indoor pool. After a 6 hour drive we had three choices a)stay in the sub par new listing and try and salvage our weekend b) turn around and go home c) try to find a replacement during the busy holiday weekend and have to pay more than the $800 a night I had already paid for a fraudulent listing. We chose to stay hoping Lisa would make some sort of compensation, but...
