SOMA Sounds — Local services in South Orange

A short story: My spouse and I have a shared list of albums we’re looking for to keep us on task whenever we visit record stores. We’ve had the list for a few years now and our most elusive item, the Blue Jean Committee’s Catalina Breeze (iykyk), has been on it since it was created. Imagine our joy when, on visiting SOMA Sounds opening weekend, sitting there, staring at us from the wall display, is a mint copy of this exact vinyl!

Please, do yourself a favor and visit this shop. Outside of having our most elusive album, the selection is fantastic and I plan to return regularly to find the rest of our list, because I know this place will have it! Great selection, great vibes, and all around a great addition...

Visited this store for the first time with my daughter and I'm glad I did! We picked up some great finds, including an LP of a Rush radio broadcast that I had no idea existed. Some of the new releases were a little pricey, but that's everywhere these days, so I don't blame them for that.
