I would rate this as just -- ok! We read information about this and got really excited about it. we knew that you had to pay a small fee to get in but our info talked about all the diffrent cornbread samples that would be located all over the festivities, we figured that would offset the fee for getting in. We thought it would be great to taste diffrent cornbread recipes and make them at home. We love cornbread. Now we knew there was an exception of cornbread alley that you paid an extra cost to sample their cornbread/bbq samples. Well, we were there at about 9:30 and the "cornbread samples" were already down to crumbs, with no promise of them getting more. They referred us to the food booths where you could buy food. I don't mind buying food to eat ...but this is a cornbread festival and it brags about diffrent cornbread recipe samples!! What this really was is a bunch of craft booths, some homemade, but mostly stuff the you can buy in stores, a small carnival for the kids, and booths of food choices. We stayed until evening and went back to our room, toured it again Sunday, hoping that it might be diffrent, but it was the same. They did have some good music there and we did have a good time listening to music and talking to people. We did not buy anything from the booths because we did not find anything we wanted. We bought some good food from the food booths and enjoyed it. My husband said he did not want to come back and I agree, we can go to half a dozen of these festivals...
Read moreMy husband and I are both disabled. This is no place for folks like us. Most visitors were very rude as well as physically rough. I was using a cane, barely able to get through the crowd. My cane was kicked out from under me, I was pushed and shoved. My husband is an amputee and recovering from cancer treatment. Our first time out in over a year. The crowds have no concerns for a wheelchair or for those in them. Besides the rudeness, we were separated for over an hour. After searching all this time, I found a security guard, he said he couldn't help me himself, being appointed to stage security, he disappeared saying that he would send someone and to stay by this red tent so they could find me. No one came. After another 30 min, my husband wondered upon us. I then went to search for the officer I had previously asked for help to tell him that we found him, but he almost didn't recognize me nor had he tried to get help. I know this because in looking for this officer, I found several others who hadn't even been told that there was someone missing. So I suggest for those who are looking for a place to enjoy after suffering from a disability, DON'T GO TO THIS...
Read moreI took my granddaughter 11 and her friend.. both of them were hurt riding the Hurricane and the Tilt a Whirl ( think that's what its called) not being their fault though...the bar on the tilt was too tight and the Hirricane was so fast it shoved one against so hard she has a bad scrap on her thigh! The cash machines either ran out of cash or something....now I have to keep an eye on my bank! They should have had chairs to sit on while the older people waited for kids to get off rides! It was terribly crowded and vendors didnt take cards, should have warned people to bring alot of CASH! Had to scramble finding cash when machines...
