I came in to pick up birthday supplies with a friend.. Bc of Covid it was mandatory to wear a face covering or mask to shop. Which I completely understand and I was ready for this. How ever my mask blew away before entering the store. I noticed other customers were in and out of the store without one and figured I would not run into an issue. About 20 mins into shopping a woman shouts out to me and tells me I need a mask or I need to go and I can’t shop there. I told her my mask was blown out of my hands before entering, and she continued rudely to tell me to go. I ignored her based off the strength of the way she spoke to me. Seemed like she called her supervisor to enforce it.. and when he came he singled me out in an abrupt manner. His tone of voice was loud and to be honest I felt this was more of a racial matter then about me wearing a mask. He spoke at me telling me it was the law to wear a mask and I told him if your going to single me out we’re going to do a store sweep and kick everyone else who’s not wearing one out. There was literally a woman in the next isle across with a man and no mask. I could’ve counted on multiple hands how many people had no mask on. I work in customer service and even with a pandemic this is not how you speak to people. I still would not leave and this man followed me called security, told security, but security did nothing. I disappeared on him and my friend over heard him talking on his walkie targeting me. I felt disrespected, singled out, we were both embarrassed, and I would spreading this message along social media about how this particular location treats people and certain ethnicities. I am a Spanish woman with bright vibrant curly hair, considering there was a couple around with no mask that were not approached of white ethnicity this location becomes apparent to me as...
Read moreA generally like this Target as opposed to some of the others in close proximity. It’s usually less crowded, is clean, and is well stocked.
However, there are at times some issues with customer service. Tonight, I was shopping in the outdoor decor area. One of the employees was doing his rounds and was fixing up the shelves. His manager walked by. The manager told him he needed to pick up the pace. The manager then proceeded to use this opportunity to tell the employee that he feels as though he needs to pick up the pace in general and went on to say that he thinks this employee comes in and does little as possible. Now, for all I know, this may be true. But this definitely did not seem like a public conversation. This is one that should have occurred in private or in a performance review. It was very awkward for myself and one other customer in the vicinity.
I brought up the situation to customer service and the women working the counter said she “would let someone know.” I hope this is the case because it was very unprofessional on the manager’s part.
On another occasion, there was an item for clearance at a nearby Target that was not in clearance at this location. I inquired about their policy to price matching and was given a very rude response about how clearance prices are at the discretion of the individual store. Fine. I understand the policy and I accept it, but my interaction did not warrant such a...
Read moreI’m disappointed, I come to this Target frequently, and tonight may bring that to a stop for a while. An associate named Ryan, had his checkout light open. I go to checkout ONE item. The rest of items in my cart were for guest services..before I can even say anything, he slowly turns around, rolls his eyes, mumbles something under his breath quietly, and takes his time going to the register…I had to greet him first…why treat a customer like that? As if I am the one who personally drug him out of bed to be there? I didn’t even do anything wrong! I was polite the entire time, but aggravated internally. He checked me out and I went to guest services, JUST FOR HIM TO FOLLOW ME, and it felt like he did so just to see if I was. If this reaches the associate, take this opportunity to do better. I also work retail during the day, but if someone gives you absolutely no reason to act annoyed with them, why would you??? It left a bad taste in my mouth. And if Target didn’t decide to close self checkout early, I would have 100% checked myself out instead… and these support the...
