I typically do not have an issue here at all. Itās super convenient for me because I work across the street in the large corporate center. I work in mental health, so I often look forward to a Starbucks after a long stressful day.
Today however, I came to the counter and the barista just stared at me for several long seconds, and didnāt say a word. I was not bothered by this truthfully. Iāve encountered some harsh stare downs during the day from people my office works with to the general individual believing that I can read their mind, haha. So really not bothered.
What did bother me though, was that right before me she did not treat the other customer in front of me in this manner. So this made me question if I did something to upset her. Her body language, truthfully, was not friendly, and I completely understand I sound like a nitpicky person who may allude to asking for the metaphorical manager⦠trust me Iām not. Not at all.
I initiated the conversation to place my order. I asked the typical pleasantries. āHello, how are you?ā I received a curt āHiā, and then a continued stare down, when I placed my order, she looked annoyed, and from what appeared to me, was some not so nice looks in my general direction, and some hush conversation with the other baristas. However, I couldnāt hear what they were saying so, thatās ultimately not that important.
After this occurred, I went to the pick up area and was browsing on my phone. The next person to order was a Target employee, and it was like a complete 180 degrees in body language and overall tone. The barista was very friendly, engaging the employee in conversation.
My drink was being worked on and then sat down to do the employees drink. Then they made mine and it was warm and the ice nearly melted. One of the baristas all but slid it down the counter to me, and the entire bottom was soaking wet. Myself and the employee both asked for a napkin. They brought the napkinās immediately to the employee and I had to ask again for a napkin so I could wipe my drink.
The one barista rolled her eyes and another barista handed me a napkin.
I took a sip of the coffee, and ended up throwing it away when I got home because I had asked for sugar free vanilla and I was given full sugar vanilla. I thought I would be okay if I took my time, but after gastric bypass, sugar tolerance is very low.
Now, again, I understand everyone has off days and overall bad days, but this was the first time I ever had an issue here so Iām honestly letting it slide.

I decided it would be a nice idea to get my wife and I our favorite drink from Starbucks. We like flat whites, I like breve and she likes whole milk. I was the 3 person in line when I arrived, there were 2 people waiting to get the orders they already placed. There were 6 employees total behind the counter. The time is 12:25, easy to check since I texted my wife when I got in line to make sure she wanted the coffee. Line moved slowly but not bad, I ordered at 12:41, and moved to the crowd of people waiting, 6 with me . The employees were just talking to each other, they sent out 2 orders both wrong, so they came back. They completely skipped the order of the lady 2 people in front of me, and it was only a dog cake pop. She spoke up after standing there for over 30 mins for this overpriced snack for her son. Now the time is 1:10 and they just start to make my order, both with oat milk, this mistake was caught by the employee and corrected prior to giving it to me and I do appreciate that. But leaving the store ar 1:22 after getting in line at 12: 25 is insane for 2 coffees. I will never return to this location. These people think they deserve 15 an hour, no chance in my mind, as the owner of a food service establishment I would have fired every one...

Right as I walked in Michelle greeted me with a beaming smile that already made my day into a better one. I asked for suggestions on what to get, and gave me by far the best drink Iāve ever had. Second time coming: Yesterday I came back to Starbucks for the first time in quite a while, and I will just say everything was perfect from the moment I walked in. I was greeted with such great customer service from a familiar face along with a beaming bright new one. They are such amazing workers that greet you with a welcoming and comforting smile that makes you feel you know youāre going to have a great experience. Michelle and Rusi gave me yet another great suggestion on a delicious drink. That drink was the upside down caramel macchiato, it was cold, sweet, and quite refreshing.
