I’m so pleased with my experience with K&S Music Center that I just had to write a 5-star review. (I should start by mentioning that as an admittedly more-than-slightly socially-neurotic person, the only thing I loathe more than doing business on the phone is the skin-crawling uncomfortableness of having to ask for any special accommodation in the process. Honestly, I’d rather eat a large bag of hair.) Here’s a summary of my experience; Recently, I purchased a guitar from K&S online, but almost immediately wished I’d bought a slightly more expensive one that they also had in stock. What could easily have been an awkward, trying, or even wholly futile experience was an absolute breeze. Troy, the owner (a super nice, easy-going guy- not at all the kind of person one MIGHT expect to encounter in a music store) worked with me personally to facilitate returning the initial guitar and getting the second one sent out as soon as possible. Super easy, super fast. Honestly, the whole experience- including talking to another person at the store (Zachary? Jedediah? His name might’ve been Larry, but quite possibly Ishmael) was characterized by a genuine desire to treat customers as they would a friend. No joke, they actually practice the lost art of great customer service. My experience was so positive, in fact, that...heck...I might even go back into a music store again. Highly...
Read moreHands down, this was the best customer service I have ever received from a mom-and-pop or big box music store. I came across K & S Music Center while surfing the internet one evening during the Pandemic. I spied a 2019 HSS aged cherry Fender Stratocaster on their website and promptly contacted Troy. Troy was knowledgable and patient with all my questions. He offered me a VERY fair price for the instrument and I couldn't say no. I drove an hour and a half (one way) to pick up the instrument and let me tell you, it was worth the trip. Troy generously threw in some K & S swag and I can't wait to show it off. Jeremiah did a fantastic job setting up the guitar; no fret sprout, low action, stays in tune, and plays like butter. I was so pleased with the Strat set up, I had him do a string change and set up on my Schecter CR-6 as well. He eliminated the fret buzz that was so annoying from the last tech who did a set up for me. As I was leaving, Troy told me, "well, you're part of the family now". I could't be happier! Full disclosure: I am not being paid or receiving any compensation from K&S Music or any affiliates for...
Read moreI had stopped in while on a social outing with a few friends and was expecting a fairly standard small store with maybe a few quality items and a lot of cheap lower-end products. What I was met with was a store that has (or can get) literally anything and everything. Everything from pedals, keyboards, live sound, percussion, recording gear, acoustics, any number of accessories, etc. And the prices are at or better than the big mail-order stores I've used over the years. I just made my second visit to this store and wound up purchasing several items after chatting with Jeremiah.
It was very clear that these guys have been at this a really long time and both know and love their craft well. As someone who worked retail for a long time, I know the value in how a business treats their customers - and this was truly exceptional. I will definitely be back regularly.
The bottom line: If you're someone that likes a small store with a million things packed into every space possible and that small-town service that everyone loves, check these guys out. You won't be...
