This was our first, and last, time ever going to Nankin. We ordered a $500 RC truck online last night then went this morning. Things went fairly well for the first 45 seconds then went downhill. We went in and someone was right there. It was a little odd because the young guy just stared at me rather than saying anything. He waited for me to say something first, after staring at me for 10 seconds. So I had to initiate the “hi. I have an online order.” Then he finally talked and confirmed that my order was pulled and ready. So I brushed that off. We were so excited to check this store out, as we’ve heard rave reviews. We walked to the back counter where a middle aged man asked if we needed help, then this is where everything went downhill. He seemed nice for the first 30 seconds, but then when we asked about a product from a brand that we know is kind of off brand, but we wanted to see if maybe they do carry it, as we’ve never been there before, he instantly went in defensive mode and started treating us like incompetent idiots. He calmly went off on us stating in a smart mouth voice “well that’s your first problem, is buying off brand.” Then he went into a major tangent about the shocks we were asking about and wouldn’t chill out and went off for almost 5 minutes belittling us. He started going off about shock sizes and saying that there’s no possible way to know a shock size unless we know the actual measurement and how there’s so many variations and such. Then he asked if we brought the part (while still being rude and defensive) and we told him no. He then started going off to us stating that they can’t determine shock size without having the part there to make sure it is the exact size, and continued on that another few minutes, continuing to make us feel like pieces of crap.
That was just one of the multiple problems we had with customer service. We finally got away from that guy after almost a 10 minute belittling tangent to us. We continued to look around. Then we found ourselves walking back towards the counters that the parts were hung behind. An employee had a drag car he was building sitting on the counter and my boyfriend started walking up to him and said “oh that’s cool! I’m currently building a drag car right now too.” And he went to ask the guy about the drag car and how he’s building it, but instead, another employee came up and the guy turned away from my boyfriend mid question, and started chatting with the other employee, completely ignoring us and having a grand time with the other employee, shoving us to the side. We were heated at this point. Other employees were nearby chatting up a storm with each other too, ignoring customers. We walked away from the two employees talking about the drag car that ignored us and went down the way to the other 2-3 employees chatting, to where we stood and stared at them with a few items in hand. They completely ignored us standing there and I had to step closer to the counter and get their attention by saying “we’re ready to check out.” To which then we finally got a response from the main cashier guy who was just walking up to the other employees. He was the only decent employee there. He was happy to help us. Then we were up there checking out and he asked if we had any questions and my boyfriend said he had a question about something else. The guy pointed to the two that ignored us to chat about their drag car and said that he can answer our question. My boyfriend walked back there since the guy said he could help us, and he got ignored AGAIN! my boyfriend was like “whatever. I’ll just get it answered another time”.
We were so angry. Not once, not twice, but at least 3 times, if not 4 times, did we get ignored, on top of being belittled and treated poorly from the get go for asking one simple question about if Nankin stocked a known semi-off brand product.
We’re letting everyone we know of our experience and we told them that we’ll order from other online retailers that we’ve ordered from before with good customer service, and go to Toledo...
Read moreWell, I've been to the Farmington location about a year ago and had a solid experience buying my mambaX ESC. Unfortunately, this was not the same experience :/ I came in about 20 minutes to close looking for an axial differential housing. I asked someone in the back if they had the part. They seemed annoyed that I had even asked for a part. After they grabbed the part for me I told them I had some things on hold. Not a word was said. They just slapped the bag of stuff on the counter as if I wasn't worth their time. I looked at the body that I asked them to hold and it was the wrong one. I asked if they had the one I was looking for and he said I don't think so without even checking. After all that he rung up the body anyway which I immediately had to return. This person made me feel like I wasn't worth the shop's time even though I was spending almost two hundred dollars. I can understand someone on the street not giving me the time of day or any courtesy, but for someone in customer service this was so frustrating to me. Even though their selection is nice I think I'll be buying online in the future just to avoid dealing with condescending and downright demeaning...
Read moreAbsolutely love the store in General and have had great luck with the parts I have needed up until last week. Bought a brushless system off the website as it said there was one in stock. Paid, all was good, about 2 hours later I got a phone call, the inventory was wrong and they could give me a different combo for $25 more. That was fine, the next day I went to pick it up and the guy couldn't find the product, he (older gray haired man) kept yelling at me telling me I should have known who called me and even yelled at my wife acting like we were beneath him. Kept calling me kid and telling me it wasnt his problem that they couldnt find the system. Yes it is your problem and if you dont have time to help someone buying hundreds of dollars in products you dont need to be there. He walked me back to Dave and he was more than happy to help me, he called the person that was working the day before, that person told him it was behind the counter and.....it was there with my name on it, it wasnt hidden and there was no reason to treat a customer like a p.o.s. Ill continue to shop there but I will avoid this employee...
