Odessa - European Foods & Deli LlC — Local services in Spokane Valley

I love this little store. I especially love that outside it looks like it's going to be a dive, but inside it is just full of wonderful Russian and European treats. There is so much chocolate and so much candy that I was absolutely in heaven. That is what I'm focusing on right now as research on something I am doing, but they have lots of other foods in there, and teas and coffees as well. I also did see some Russian soap. They have a refrigerated and freezer section as well. It looked like there were lots of deli meats as well as canned fish. My regret is that there were not more fresh baked goods. But I do have to say the baked goods they had were superior to the baked goods of other Russian stores I have tried recently. My favorite part of the store was Alexander, the gentleman behind the counter. He was friendly and pleasant and answered any questions I had. He has an absolutely wonderful accent which I could have listened to all day. The only reason I am not giving the store five stars is because they did not have a bigger variety of fresh baked goods. My go to place for cookies, candy, my childhood soda drink non alcoholic Kvas and other green soda, also there's another green soda similar to the one but slightly different taste. Tarhoon (Тархун). Very good even for little children, not as sweet but just right. As for Kvas it is not too bubbly, for some would taste like beer. It is not beer. The Kvas comes in different variety. The one I buy regularly is original. Used to drink a homemade one at the Bazzar from barel in the 80's. Very refreshing with ice, during heat wave. Also I love bread there. It can be bought fresh.
