This morning, I decided to try Stormin Norman’s because it was local it’s been around a long time and it appeared to be a pretty good place, we noticed that the order for my beautiful company was wrong. I got the traditional and she ordered a veggie omelet, I asked for blue cheese when she brought out the food It came out a scramble that consisted heavily of hash browns and green peppers not much for anything else but definitely not an omelet which is what she originally ordered . DISAPPOINTING to say the least. When the waitress came by and ask how things were 5-7 mins later there was no blue cheese brought out. We didn’t want to make her feel bad so we didn’t say anything about the wrong order despite my desire to mention it. My food was decent, and hers was to for food portion size and quality of the food despite the wrong order. Unfortunately I ended up feeling like I was eating alone because i ended up eating most of both meals because she didn’t get what she wanted and we don’t like to waste food. She did end up picking what she could of the eggs out and had some of her toast that came with it. Still not great though. The whole time our waitress never happen to notice that her meal was hardly being touched which was obvious to those around which to most would prompt a concern to check and make sure things were ok or if something was wrong and or could be fixed. 30mins in and still no blue cheese, as another young lady brought us a top off of coffee I noticed that the coffee pot was a black top and the coffee tasted different, stronger and it prompted my memory to notice the prior waitress brought and orange pot. Which typically is a sign of decafe vs regular. I feel like our coffee was decafe to start and I wish it would have been regular. No mention of this was brought up during the meal because I didn’t want to be rude At the end of our meal when the waitress asked to clean our plates and walked away she didn’t ask how things were until she brought the ticket at the which was a total of $37.50 She the waiter then asked how everything was and stated I just remembered you wanted blue cheese (45mins later) and said casually I’m sorry about that, and said how was everything else, I then decided to go ahead and mention the food issue anyway. I said it wasn’t bad but just a little disappointed because she, my beautiful company had ordered an omelet not a scramble and the waitress looked surprised and said oh really ? I’m so sorry, with a light causal apology said well I’m two for two this morning. We stated it was fine it is what it is. She never said let me make it up to you. Let me fix it or get you a discount or compensation. She just stated as she walked away let me know when you’re ready I can help you with the ticket. Which is even more disappointing cause the ticket and my cash was already in my hand but she cluelessly spaced the obvious. So we put our coats on and started to head to bar to pay at which point she across the room noticed and said be right there. We handed her $40 for a ticket of $37.50 And were handed back $4 so idk if she can’t count or did it as a hopeful tip or discount for her poor service but either way she placed it on the table passing through hastily and quickly said thanks and walked on towards her next customer With still no attempt to make things right So needless to say I will not...
Read moreWe were excited to try this place when they opened back up during the pandemic. We unfortunately didn’t make it until last night when my mom was in town and wanted to try them also. We sadly won’t be back.
The service was hit and miss. Walked in to no greeting, no sign letting us know to seat ourselves or wait to be seated. They had one server who looked like she was also bartending. Some blond chick was dressed as an employee but she was too busy chatting and tossing her hair around a big group of guys and a few women outside and playing with the bingo lady’s toddler. She was of no help to the restaurant inside. Our server was alright, she looked like she was working twice as hard to keep people taken care of. She definitely wasn’t super friendly though and only came by for drinks and food.
We ordered nachos and the meat was disgustingly salty and overcooked and dry. There is no chicken option, only ground beef and the seasoning ruined it. We barely ate half of them as it was just too salty. The seasoning needs cut with another product or just ditch it altogether.
I ordered the club sandwich, it was good but the side salad left a lot to be desired. They threw the 5 small green pieces on top and everything below it was white. I picked through it all looking for edible salad leaves and got nothing. Should have taken a pic at the end of what the salad really looked like.
I get that prices are lower than other places we go to, but whyyyy use iceberg lettuce? It’s bland, no flavor and negligible on nutrition. My club sandwich had nice leafy lettuce or Romaine on it but my salad was a plate of all white “lettuce” with a few green pieces in there. Had one bite and couldn’t eat it, I don’t know if it’s their way of cutting costs or if they always serve iceberg as the salad. Either way I’d rather pay a couple bucks more to eat...
Read moreI visited Stormin’ Norman’s Shipfaced Saloon for the first time on May 7, 2023. I had been wanting to try this place for a long time as I drive past it daily and always take notice of all the cars in the parking lot. After glancing at it from the outside so many times over the past two years, I must admit that what I had envisioned the interior looking like didn’t match what I had drawn up in my brain when I walked in. Not that it was a bad thing…just an observation.
My brother ordered a 22 oz. Coors Light and I got a 16 oz. Blue Moon. Our server brought our beers out quickly and they were cold and tasted good (you never know what you are going to get with draft beer). We ordered the chips and queso for an appetizer and they were plentiful and the cheese dip was average. I ordered the cheeseburger and fries while my brother ordered the club sandwich with tater tots. My major takeaway from the food was the French fries. I had never ate a version of fries like the ones at Stormin’ Norman’s. They are spear-shaped, unique, and very tasty. My cheeseburger was good and my brother enjoyed his sandwich and tater tots. Prices are below average from what you typically pay in Spokane which was a very pleasant surprise.
Our server was Sarah M. (as indicated on the receipt) and was fabulous. She treated us well, got our order correct, and was engaging. We wore our Bloomsday shirts so she talked to us about the race for a little bit. There are plenty of large televisions in the bar so we got front row seats to watching the Mariners and the NBA Playoffs. The bar is a little on the darker side lighting wise but I know a lot of people prefer that. We enjoyed our time at Stormin’ Norman’s and...
