Paradise Pet Resort — Local services in Spokane Valley

I have posted the review below 5 years ago, and if I could, I would not only give 5 stars again but actually would give them 10!! We added another Jack Russell to our family and they treat our babies with so much love and care. No kidding that this is the only place I trust to bring my dogs, and the only one I would recommend anyone to leave their pets while on vacation. We, including our boys, LOVE you guys :) Simply the Best! We took a week of on vacation this July 2014, ans let our 1.5 year old Jack Russell boarded here for the first time. We live in Pullman, WA (70 miles away from Spokane), and we had a horrible experience when we boarded him last year in a place in our home town. I don't have to mention, but our little Jack Russell is very, very spoiled, and I'm not ashamed of that, because he is our baby, since we don't have kids! It was TOTALLY worth the drive to board him here. If you're looking for a place clean, and where your dog will feel, most of the time, like he's home, don't look further! They don't have kennels, so they leave the dogs free playing with each other all day long, and when it's time for bed, they have these amazing decorated room themed Villa's, with plenty of space, with a glass door, a very comfy bed with some toys, and even a little TV that they can leave on all through night if you ask. Although, I'm pretty sure the dogs get so exhausted of all the fun during the day, that they probably pass out in the bedroom at night (LOL). That, for me, is a definition of a Pet Resort. I called every day (I know that sounds annoying) to check on him, and the staff was AMAZING, very friendly, and you can tell that they love pets as well. My little Tavinho came back to me nice and clean, weighting exactly the same (if you ever boarded your pet, you'll know what that means), and most of all, HAPPY. I was horrified by what I saw when I picked up my dog. I could never recommend a person bring a dog they love here. While my dog is small, I believe every dog deserves the best. They have a massive amount of big dogs and from a view above I saw way to many for the small area they had. I want to estimate 25 or 30+. There was not enough staff keeping an eye on them. If a scuffle broke out they could never stop it in time which is very bad considering they have you sign a waiver releasing them from all liability. If they had more staff than sure, but I only saw 2 in my short time their in the back. Even 4 would not have been enough. The answers they gave me about how the my dog was doing were very generic. It's hard to believe they get the attention dogs need considering the ratio. I did not see stuff for dogs to do except barks at each other. My dog went straight to the water dish when I got home. I only saw from the floor above but I am deeply saddened by their practices. The biggest issue I have is little to no supervision. There is zero way I could see them saving all the dogs in the event of a true emergency. The only nice stuff I have to say is the area was clean and staff was friendly and they separate small dogs from big dogs. However, I could never bring my dog to this place that requires me to sign a liability waiver and provides little supervision. As a person who wants only the best for dogs, nobody should bring a dog here.
