Ah, spokane discount.....there's nowhere else like it! This store is half yard sale, half retail store....it's totally cheap prices with a total lack of customer service! Folks....welcome to the wild west of shopping! If you're like me, you aren't shopping here for their top tier customer service. You are here because the price is right! If you've never been here, you can expect to find a lot of returned items from Costco and Wal-mart. Some are like new and other are.....not....not even close.
To be fair, it seems like they are actually trying these days. Staff is still generally unhelpful (although there are some great workers who are very helpful), but at least they've really cleaned up the store. A few years ago, they actually stored all of their excess inventory on site in the valley (most of it outdoors!), which often resulted in weather damaged items. They now have a storage building elsewhere - which makes this place look waaaay less ghetto.
When you go in, you have to have a reasonable idea of what these things cost at other stores. If you go in blind, you can get robbed. For example, I was looking for a single pair of leather gloves (the yellow leather ones that costco sells). I happened to know that a pack of 3 at Costco is like $16, however one pair was going for like $12. I've actually seen "like new" belts going for more than the price at Costco. If you do know your general prices, you can get some screaming deals here. It's also an excellent place if you are looking for odds and ends, like a single sheet for your Costco bed or a single piece of tupperware from your Costco set. I placed my list of "best values to date" below to give you an idea of some of the deals that I've found here.
Plan on spending a bit longer than normal here if you are looking for these deals. It takes a while to cipher through the clutter to find the deals. Also, make sure to understand the return policy before you buy stuff. Some returns can be 30 days...others no returns at all. I'm sure there's some method to the madness - I'm just not sure what it is. If you have a few minutes to look around, Spokane Discount is an awesome place to check out!
Best values to date: Costco leather couch - costco retail $900. Picked up for $360 with some pretty minor scratches on the back. Super nice bed sheets (online retail $110). Picked up for $11.00, with a cut in one of the pillow sheets. This only took a couple minutes to sew shut. Brand New Butterball Turkey Deep Fryer (working) - Costco retail $130. Picked...
Read moreProbably one of the worst experiences in customer service and in the store that I’ve ever had. The gentleman who helped me out was very kind and understanding, but as for the managers they were completely opposite. On Facebook I had saw they had posted a shower door for sale. They had pictures of the shower door matte black with regular glass, so I called in to make sure that it was still there drove all the way in from loon Lake just to find out that they have falsely advertised. As I was checking to make sure all the parts were there because I’ve had previous incidents where I buy something and it has been used not working or absolutely disgusting so I always check. I could hear the Maneger on the intercom frantically saying to stop the sale because they knew they had posted the wrong door for sale as you will see in the pictures I also posted the shower door with pictures of it pictures of the boxes that they also brought up front just to tell me that they will not honor their false advertising. Shower door was listed on Facebook for $299 when I got there they wanted me to pay the full $500 which I could get a new one for that instead of one with the box busted box and parts missing. I suggest they take a little classes on customer service and maybe look at their post before they post it on marketplace.
Edit, Just saw that the owner commented just thought I would clarify that it was his Confusion not mine!!! As you can see in the new photos I added you can clearly see a picture of a shower door. Also on the description, it is advertising a shower door. Everything you posed on there is for a SHOWER DOOR. Maybe if you want people to message you on market Facebook place you should make that clear in your advertising and just because you posted the wrong thing it does not make it my confusion. As a store owner and this is why I said you guys should take a class on customer service probably the worst way to go about something. but no worries I went to cheaper by the minute found the same door for $250 way better than you guys so will never be returning the Spokane discount to ever give my money to these...
Read moreSeems every time I try shop here there is nothing but problems. This last trip they wouldn’t sell me shelving units because they weren’t put together yet. After I spent time separating out two units from there piles of junk. They wouldn’t sell me the un built shelves. Who is going to buy metal shelving units that are built? Be careful what you buy. It’s all been rejected by someone for one reason or another you might be better off buying vintage. I won’t be going back.
Previous visits have been just as bad if not worse. The cashiers and the owner are rude and have zero customer service skills. The prices are not that great you are only saving a dollar or two when comparing to the original Costco price. Returns are not that easy I was given the run around because they said they tested the product before they sold it but it didn’t work properly when I got it home. Just because a product gets power doesn’t mean it works correctly. 99.9% trash buyer beware
Edit: Thanks for responding it explains a lot. If you read the post there was no deal I missed out on. You also missed where I mentioned previous visits having a run in with the owner. But from the sounds of all these bad reviews and your responses its sounds like the owner never works maybe thats part of the problem. You should really read these posts before you respond you sound unprofessional. It’s sad really we like to support local businesses that do right by their customers. You should see these as way to improve rather than putdown and blame your customers for your own mistakes and short comings. I also noticed you are not...
