My boyfriend and I came here for our one year anniversary, since our first date was here. A little bit of nostalgia, ya know?
The experience was TERRIBLE!
When we got there, it took almost 15 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge that we were there, even though multiple bartenders looked up at us. No "hey, we'll be right with you" or anything. They even helped three other customers before us (who came up to the bar AFTER us). Once we were finally helped, the girl was not super friendly. She talked to us in a very condescending tone, and when we picked a pool table said "You won't be in my area, but I'll deliver your drinks to your table anyway" and gave us the name of a guy who was apparently the server for our area. Now, keep in mind we ordered ONE pitcher of Blue Moon. That's it. Guess what? SHE NEVER BROUGHT IT!! After about 20 minutes, I noticed her vacuuming another area of the bar. When I went up to the bar to collect the beer we'd paid for, the other bartender got snippy and said "I'll be with you when I can". I said, "actually, the server with the bunny ears was supposed to bring it by 20 minutes ago, so I'd kind of like it now, please". She then acted like it was a huge inconvenience. I don't know who the actual server was for our area, because we never were asked by ANYONE if we were okay or needed anything else.
While the tables are nice, they are also paid for by the hour, and it's fairly expensive when you consider most pool tables in bars are 50 to 75 cents per game..and most people only play two (maybe three) games in an hours time. When we went to pay our tab and get our ID back, we were charged a "prorated" fee of $8 because we went over our hour. But we were standing AT THE BAR, with the pool balls, waiting for someone to actually pay attention for 8 minutes and help us. We actually played for 55 mins (I know that for a fact, because I set a timer so we didn't go over an hour).
Then, to top it all off....they didn't give my boyfriend back his debit card when he paid the tab, and after I went up and was like "hey...he gave you a card, we kind of need that back" they had to LOOK FOR IT!!
The whole experience was trash, and we definitely won't...
Read moreDecent place to shoot pool. The only issue is that the lady behind the bar just ignores when you are waiting to check out and helps others. We made eye contact several times. Her daugher was sitting at the bar and said we needed to get in line. There was no line when we got there. We were turning in the pool balls and set them on the bar for the bartender where we checked the balls out from the other bartender earlier. The bartender was pooring a beer and we made sure contact. Instead of checking us out, she just went to someone that just came up. She gave them a menu, took their order and rang them up. The bartender looked right at us again and just ignored us and helped the next guy. My dad said to me under his breath what are we invisable? Then the bartenders daughter, that was sitting at the bar, got all snarky. I told her we would remember that for the next time and we would go somewhere else. The bartender then came over as hwr daughter was being rude and rolling her eyes. instead of making it right by saying sorry how can i help you just sarcastically repeated "wow" over and over because she overheard me telling her daughter that we would go somewhere else next time. I said "yep wow!" back to the bartender and said I said "that's what we thought..wow!" The bartender said right to me " No I'm talking about you" and sarcastically said "wow" a few more times. Needless to say.... We won't be back!! There are way too many other places to go that treat you like a customer. I see others have had the same issue after reading the reviews. It only takes one bad employee (and her daughter) to chase off a bunch of business for the...
Read moreI had no idea such delicious food was hidden inside an unassuming billiard hall. The setup inside is cool yet classy. It was difficult narrowing down what we wanted to eat as everything looked delectable. We decided to try three of their craft burgers (Black Diamond Burger, Turducken Burger and Buffalo Duck Burger). All of the burgers were scrumptious in their own, unique way. Who would have thought to put stuffing on a burger or that you'd find a buffalo/duck burger in Spokane but surprisingly it all worked together in a tastefully appealing way! Even though all of the burgers tasted wonderful, our favorite was The Black Diamond Burger. I've been on a personal hunt to find the best craft burger in the Spokane and CDA area. It is definitely a must try burger! The Black Diamond Burger is exquisite in its simplicity. You can taste the difference in all of the food because they use high quality, fresh, local ingredients which make all the difference. Our family loves sauces and even their sauces are made from scratch. I appreciate that this establishment uses local ingredients as much as possible to support local businesses. The spinach artichoke dip croquettes and onion rings are a must try as well. You can tell that thought, passion, creativity, effort and talent are put into each dish on their menu. The service was great as well. We look forward to trying The Black Diamond again when we are in the...
