First, let me start by saying that I love these guys and normally get great service here. I donāt plan on taking my car anywhere else for oil changes. But in future, I will only be getting my oil changed. Nothing else. I first stopped in on December 15th to get an oil change, head light replaced, wipers and air filters. It was a long wait, but that was ok. Iām glad theyāre busy. The man who saw to my car was very courteous and helpful. He even insisted on running up to Napa to get the air filter I needed when he didnāt have it In stock.
I stopped in again today because my other headlight was out. I pulled around back since it was just a quick headlight replacement. The young man said he was sorry but Iād have to pull around front. Which is ok. I did. Then I waited for an hour. When I got to the front and said I needed a headlight replaced, they found that both my headlights were out. Apparently they hadnāt actually replaced it last time. Thatās ok because they didnāt charge me for it. Then he said āI donāt think we have yours in stock, but we can replace them if we do.ā Great! So he checked. They werenāt in stock. Then he starts with āif you really want us to, I guess we can send someone up to Napa to get some for you, but thatās going to take 20 minutes. But if you really want us to, we can.ā So I said, āyou donāt really want to, so Iāll just go up to Napa and get them myself. I think someone there can help me replace them.ā The young man kept semi-offering to get them for me but I finally had to tel him to close the hood on my car and let me go so I could go get them. As I left, I got a sullen āSorry I couldnāt replace your headlight.ā As if Iām some unrealistic tyrant making crazy demands. First, if you arenāt sure you have my headlight could you have told me that before I waited in line for an hour? Second, no apology was made for not replacing the headlight when I asked for it 2 weeks ago. Third, if you donāt want to perform a service, donāt offer it half heartedly and then act like a smacked puppy when the offer is declined. You guys...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came over from west of the mountains to spend Thanksgiving with some friends and half way over, the "Oil level high" indicator on my dash came up - I accidentally topped off my oil too much before the trip (dumb mistake but not hard to do....no dipstick and delayed digital oil level reading on my Alfa Romeo). I didn't have the right tools to drain the oil where I was staying so I came by here to see if they could just drain a quart of oil. They said they could and decided to not use the oil evac as they couldn't 100% determine if my car was evac-safe so CJ decided to take the belly pan off and drain some off with the plug. This isn't easy as there are MANY machine screws to remove in order to lower the pan but 40 minutes later, they were able to remove about a quart and secure back the pan in place (they even topped off my wiper fluid while I waited). When I asked the cost, she said no charge and even said I could pull out of the bay and run it for awhile to see if the oil alert light reset. I told her I wouldn't take anymore of their time and drove off and the notification light did indeed clear about 100 miles driving later. First time at Valvoline but I will be looking for one near where I live as this was complete professionalism and stellar customer service. The decision to take the difficult and timely route to be safe (plug versus oil evac) says it all - they don't cut corners. Thanks to the entire crew there for patiently dealing with me while I temporarily plugged up 1 of the 2 bays...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Josh guy who works here is a real professional and very conscious of taking care of customers, very much A+ service. He informed me what the wait would likely be and checked back in with me again to help move me forward to get me out of the hot sun. What a thoughtful guy.
Then later when he let me know, before they had even gotten to my turn he had gone ahead and looked up the fuel filters for my truck and discovered they didnāt have one of them in stock. He didnāt want me to pay for only half service, so he looked up the nearest other Valvoline and also ordered the part and let me know when they would have it back in stock if I wanted to come back.
But the story keeps getting better. Then he noticed on the screen I had pulled up on my dash that it showed one of my tires was lowāI hadnāt even said anything to him about itāand he asked if I wanted him to fill up that tire before I left. He did that and then discovered I had a screw in my tire!
Good thing he was looking out for me because I had been about to blow off the low pressure warning because I know sometimes the sensors malfunction and I had a lot on my mind. Because he let me know I was able to rush off to the tire shop just in time before they closed. What a stellar guy. Josh...
