Pet Supermarket — Local services in Spring Hill

On June 28th, I visited Pet Supermarket on Commercial Way in Spring Hill, Florida. I purchased 100 goldfish, three dozen crickets, and a cup of mealworms. The goldfish were intended for a fish pond, a grandchild's fish tank, and as feeder fish for larger aquatic animals. During the fish bagging process, I observed the employee, Kaylee (who identified herself as a floor key holder), repeatedly putting her hands into the fish tank. A visible residue, resembling oil or lotion, was coming off her hands into the water. This concerned me, and I almost canceled the purchase. However, due to the store being close to closing, I proceeded with the transaction. Upon reaching the checkout, one goldfish had already died in the bag. A coworker of Kaylee's commented on the likely high ammonia levels in the bag. By the time I arrived home, 37 of the goldfish had died. The following day, I returned to the store with the deceased fish to request a refund or replacement. Kaylee, who stated she was the manager, refused, claiming the store does not refund "feeder fish." I explained the fish had multiple purposes, including for a child's tank and a pond, but she reiterated her refusal. When I asked for her name and to speak with a manager, she stated she was the manager, identified herself as Kaylee, and then walked away. Other employees claimed not to know her whereabouts. This experience was highly unsatisfactory due to the employee's unsanitary handling of the fish, the significant number of deceased fish upon arrival home, and the manager's unhelpful and dismissive response to a legitimate complaint. I will be taking my business elsewhere and advise other customers to exercise caution when purchasing fish from...

This location has gone down hill in my opinion. When I entered the store I was not greeted by any of the 4 employees that were standing by the registers., I proceeded to the fish department to possibly purchase more fish for my 75 gallon tank. I was beyond disappointed! All the tanks looked dirty and cloudy plus there were dead fish in more than 4 tanks, some dead on the bottom, some stuck to the pump return. Needless to say I didn't purchase any fish and I was unhappy since I used to purchase all my fish at this location. I was not approached by an employee in the 15 minutes that I stood there looking at fish. So I got the food proceeded to the registers to pay, mind you I observe my surroundings at all times. While waiting to pay I saw 3 people walk into the store and none of them were greeted by the 3 employees that were up front. I was second in line when I approached the register the girl behind the register didn't say anything to me not even hello, she didn't ask me if I found everything I was looking for if I needed assistance nothing how very disappointing is that! I paid for my fish food and out the door I went. Extremely poor customer service and my book it's a shame because this location is convenient for me and I've bought all the fish that I have,and I don't think I'll be buying any from this location ever again plus the customer service was so poor that I don't think I'll buy any other pet supplies...

Store has changed alot, Casey is an awsome manager. But I send at least $1000 a month and send many ma y customers. Not any more. Every time I come it's a hassle. Linda when I came in waited in on my account wouldn't let her ring me out. I left her my phone number had $125 worth of Petsupermarket coupons.to use. Well after about 6 days she never called me. I finally just went in she was their I asked if my account was straightened out you never called she said will see. Got my many bags of dog food. Only to have her tell me now my coupons were expired. I told her are you kidding , her job to have called me which she never did. I informed her that. That experience left me in Tears. After calling her manager she. Finally used the coupons being its was her fault anyways. She was suppose to price match my dog food which she never did. So I will go.to tractor supply and get the same dog food for.$45, your price $59 she only gave a $5 discount didnt even price match horrible employee. The 2 boys there are great the small girl is usually good the other 2 forget it. I will no longer spend or send my customers to Petsupermarket. Tractor supply will get my business. Your rule changing and some employees are just horrible. Please look at what I spent with you. Your also to cheap to give 10% to a breeder. Please... no more Petsupermarket. Bad...
