I’ve been wanting to try this new spot in Spring Hill for lunch. It’s been a long time coming, seems like they’ve been working on it for over a year. My girl and I ordered a couple of tacos each. Chips arrived, with red salsa, which was bland. Chips came straight out of a box. Tacos arrived, and my chicken chicken tacos looked good, with fresh lettuce and melted cheese. No tomato or sour cream, nor were they offered.
My lady’s were beef hard shell, and appeared to be deep fried. Were they going for birria style here? Both varieties were utterly tasteless. No seasoning, and no flavor. I asked for salsa verde (from a busboy), and it, too, lacked any zing. What’s a fella gotta do to get some hot sauce? My girl's hard shells contained a piece of fried potato. We wondered if this was a feature, or foreign object. Maybe the fryer needs filtering, and the cook needs to pay more attention, as the shell had burned spots. However, the misery was just beginning.
We paid and left, and about 7 hours later started experiencing gastric distress: nausea, severe cramping and diarrhea. Lomotil and Loperamide helped, but we concluded that it must have been something improperly handled and undercooked. We both had the same symptoms, which after 3 days are tapering off. Dangerous, especially for the senior demographic packing the place. This was the only thing my girl had eaten all day, while I had a bagel and coffee earlier. This isolates the possible source of this reaction.
I don’t understand how they can make such a huge investment, and skip the food sanitation part. Aren’t all employees supposed to undergo sanitation training within 90 days of opening?
Rating on a scale of 1-5:
Atmosphere: 2-very noisy, tables are tight. People next to us had to move so we could access our booth.
Service: 2-Slow and indifferent. Sorry we showed up at lunch hour, we know it’s busy.
Food: 1- Tasteless, bland and lacking the basics. I’m no expert, but when in Los Angeles visiting my brother, he treats me to his latest taco darling destination, and the flavors are memorable. Maybe my standards are too high. Then again, Taco Bell has better hot sauce.
Safety:-1 nobody wearing masks, tightly packed with diners, and serving cramp inducing food inconsistently prepared.
My recommendation? Find a taco truck, and eat at a picnic table outdoors. You’ll have better odds...
Read more🌮✨ I recently had the pleasure of dining at Plaza Mexico, and let me tell you, it was an unforgettable culinary experience! From the moment I walked in, the vibrant atmosphere and warm, welcoming staff made me feel right at home. The decor was colorful and lively, setting the perfect stage for a delicious meal. 🎉
Now, let’s dive into the food! First up, I ordered the infamous Quesabirria , and wow, just wow! 😍 The flavors were out of this world! The perfectly seasoned, slow-cooked meat was incredibly tender and juicy, melting in my mouth with each bite. The cheesy goodness that oozed out with every pull made it even more irresistible. Paired with a side of flavorful consomé for dipping, it was an explosion of taste that I simply can’t describe with mere words! Every bite brought me pure joy, and I was left craving more! 🤤💖
Then there was the burrito . OH MY GOODNESS! This burrito is literally a work of art. 🌯❤️ Stuffed to the brim with fresh ingredients and bursting with flavor, it was a meal that truly delivered on every front. The combination of textures and tastes was a heavenly mix. You can genuinely tell that everything is made fresh; the taste speaks volumes about the quality of the ingredients used. I felt like I was savoring a piece of Mexico with each bite! 😋
And can we talk about the kids' burrito ? It was nothing short of spectacular! Not only was it filled with the same deliciousness as the standard burrito, but it was also the perfect size for little ones (or adults who appreciate smaller portions!). I was amazed at how generous the portion sizes were and how much value you get for your money! 💰✨ It’s great to see a place that caters to families with such care and thoughtfulness.
Overall, Plaza Mexico has won my heart and taste buds! 🥳 The combination of incredible flavors, generous portions, and the freshness of the food makes it stand out as a must-visit spot. Whether you’re a lover of Mexican cuisine or just on the hunt for a hearty meal, I wholeheartedly recommend trying the Quesabirria and burrito. You won’t be disappointed!
I’m already planning my next visit because I can’t wait to indulge in these amazing dishes again! Thank you, Plaza Mexico, for an extraordinary dining...
Read moreWe used to order from here at least once a week, spent AT LEAST $75/week here, but we never will again. The last 3 orders have been messed up, either missing an item or not prepared how we ordered it. We stopped eating here for the last couple months because of the last 2 orders being messed up but decided to try them again. This last time I placed a pick up order, got home and they put salsa on the chicken instead of cheese, and the steak was burnt when it was supposed to be medium rare. I called and asked them to fix the mistakes and to have it ready by the time I got back there in 15 minutes so I could hurry back and eat with my family. Got there, nothing was ready, the manager came out, eventually said he would replace the food, that I ordered the wrong thing. I did not order the wrong thing- the woman on the phone obviously did not listen or accidentally keyed in the wrong item. The manager then had our food remade and refunded my money, as I explained to him that my food was now sitting at home getting cold while I had to waste time & gas, a half hr driving because of their mistake, and then had to wait an additional 15 minutes for them to cook the food that they messed up. But then as we were walking out he said ma'am you have to pay for that again, I need your card. Uum, ok, YOU are the one who refunded the money? I never asked for a refund, I just wanted what we ordered and paid for! So I gave him my card again. He had the audacity to charge me $3 more, after them making the mistake on not only 1 item but TWO ITEMS, making me wait another 15 min, driving there and back, my food at home cold, and did not even compensate for any of it AND CHARGED ME MORE! We won't be back! Their prices have also increased & their portion sizes have went down. Sad because they had a really good thing going once upon a time. I'll drive out of town before I give them another penny of my money. Horrible...
