I’ve been shopping that this location since it opened. My wife and I have also been raving fans and mavens for this brand and specifically this location since it opened. However, my recent experience there was extremely uncomfortable. We have taken every precaution as a family to prevent bringing home COVID-19 where we have pre-existing conditions with several family members. One of the safest places to go should be your local grocery store. On Friday my wife and I went to the store together with our hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, and our KN 95 mask’s in an effort to be extra cautious. My wife and I counted at least 10 people that were not wearing masks inside the store and purchasing produce, meat, and walking all up and down the isles. On some isles we had to avoid because they were crowded and there was at least four people on the same aisle not wearing a mask. We I asked one of the employees if masks were required inside the store and he replied with the local police are not enforcing it so they can’t either. They have signs up and they encourage people to wear them but they cannot enforce it. After my wife and I did a little more research we discovered that several employees at this location that tested positive for COVID-19 yet the protocol for enforcing mask is not being enforced at all it’s more of a request. This is plain and simple not OK. We will not be going back to this H-E-B and thought all of our neighbors should know about the lose rules and lack of action to keep the masses safe as advertised. I hope this review gets to the executive management team at H-E-B so they have an opportunity to correct this, keep their commitments, and...
Read moreI ordered a full turkey dinner kit for my elderly mom,the turkey was bland no seasoning and had a sour taste and a weird smell, the green bean casserole was under cooked, the stufffing was super dry and the gravy was super runny and tasted horrible, the sweet potatoes and mash potatoes was the only thing that was decent,I was just going to chalk it up as a bad meal that I wouldn’t buy again, then the next day my mom called me and said she threw up and had a bad stomach ache all night,so then I decided to go back to HEB and let them know about the turkey kit I had bought, the customer service lady called the manager Rita and I told her the story she began to tell me at first they didn’t sell a $94 kit there, which I had my receipt and I cut off the bar code so they could scan it,after she scanned it and found out they did sell it she said she couldn’t offer me a refund or anything because she said she talked to the store manager which wasn’t even there and between her on the phone with the customer service lady and walking up as she hung up with her there was no way she even talked to him,I asked to speak with someone else and see said she was it and never apologized or would give me a reason on why she couldn’t refund me,I even told her I would bring back all the food kit I threw away,Rita was very unprofessional and very rude and unapologetic about the spoiled uncooked meal,I will not be shopping there again thanks to Rita,HEB was my families go to store but we will not be shopping there...
Read moreI am a loyal HEB shopper and this location does not disappoint. It’s always well stocked and only rarely are we not able to get what we are looking for. For me, it’s all about being able to get the perfect cut of meat, be it a brisket to throw on the smoker or lamb chop for a special occasion. They also have a pretty decent beer and wine selection. You’ll always find the perfect pairing for whatever you are cooking.
The only small complaints I’ve had are the total chaos to be found in the parking lot. Doesn’t seem to matter what day of the week, if you need to stop by on your way home from work, it can be a mad dash to find parking.
For this reason, we opt for Curbside Pickup whenever we can. It’s super convenient, but do plan for the rare occasions when the produce you receive isn’t quite ripe enough or when they are out of an item. Substitutions are possible, but sometimes it’s a tossup as to what it will be replaced with. As an example, once they were out of the Texas Pecan coffee that had ordered. Instead of replacing it with another brand’s Texas pecan, they replaced it with a the same brand’s decaf Texas Pecan. If you know me, this simply will not do.
All in all though HEB gets it right. It’s usually so much more affordable than other grocery stores around, especially when you buy the HEB brand items which are usually very good (Swoon anyone?). And while the lines can get long, they generally move pretty quickly and everyone there is more...
