RIP OFF ALERT!!! I ordered 2 " bowls" to go of chicken rice soup totalling almost $28, yes $28 not a typo, i guess that's why they don't list the price of the soup or most other items on their website... i didn't order them for the traditional healing benefits of chicken soup, I entered the restaurant in good health but walked away feeling sick to my stomach and disgusted with the legal theft my wallet had just received. The cashier told me everyone was complaining about the portion but out of her control. I jumped in my car and drove off feeling I had just been mugged. I called the manager to tell him that the broth portion was so small and inadequate that once I poured the 10 cents worth of white rice into the broth I would not have soup but MUSH! He then also stated it was out of his hands, that the owner made it clear that that was the portion size. I get more broth in a $1 CUP OF NOODLES from 7-Eleven and about as much chicken! But again I guess I should have been apriciative that it came with 10 cents worth of rice. I think the 3 plastic containers it came in cost more than the food cost of the soup, ( 1 container had tortilla strips, I had rice and 1 had the soup, I guess the slice of avocado was supposed to make up for the almost non existing chicken or broth) I guess broth A.K.A.- flavored water..... is in short supply at Republican Grill. To say that my first time trying the food was a disappointment would be an under statement. Now I know why the parking lot is empty most of the time. I should have read the reviews. I wasn't the first person feeling underwhelmed by the food or the price. Foodies don't ask for much, just give us 2 out of the 3 following items and you will gain our busines or atleat a second try : #1 quality/flavor, #2 price, #3 portion size. More often than not simply achieving 2 out of 3 items of the list will get you a second chance. The Republican Grill got 0 out of 3! The owner should open his locations in airports, at least people their go in expecting sub par food and...

I wish I could write a review on the food, drinks, etc. but we unfortunately didn't get a chance to eat here by no fault of our own. We didn't really feel welcomed or valued when we arrived. We weren't greeted by the 3 hostess who were standing at the host stand. I walked up the stand and gave them my name and told them that I knew that we were a few minutes early (10 min early) but I wanted to let them know that we were here for our 6:15 reservation. She proceeded to tell me that we could be seated outside immediately but would have to wait for a table inside. Of course, we didn't mind waiting a few minutes for a table inside for our 6:15 reservation, but I asked her if that was the table they had reserved for us (outside)? She said yes. I was completely taken aback by this because why would you have a reserved table outside for me on a cold night if that was not what I asked for. What is the purpose of the reservation? We were really looking forward to trying the food and drinks after hearing good things from others, but we obviously made a bad choice to come to this location. We decided to just go ahead and leave and just go somewhere else. At 6:12, I received a call from someone at the restaurant telling me that they had a table ready for us. We told them that they could give it someone else because the reception and the service received upon arrival was lacking. Maybe we will get a chance to try out The Woodlands location and receive a better reception...
