Kohinoor Grocery & Halal Meat — Local services in Spring

I've been to this store a few times for just chapati, but I recently had the best experience when I decided to put together a starter kit of Indian seasonings for my boyfriend’s birthday. Both of us love Indian food and have been wanting to cook it together, but as two Americans with no real background in Indian cooking, we weren’t sure where to start. Thankfully, I know a few people who have taught me a few things, so I had a general idea of what I needed—but I still needed help!

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a wonderful young lady with a big smile and a clear eagerness to assist me. When I explained my goal, she was more than happy to guide me, checking in throughout my visit to make sure I found everything I needed. Her help was invaluable!

As I was wrapping up, I mentioned that much of what I picked out was for vegetable-based dishes, but my boyfriend loves meat. That’s when she pointed me toward their section of pre-marinated meats—something I hadn’t noticed before. I was thrilled and picked up chicken thighs, fish, and beef patties. We cooked everything that night, and it was all delicious! My boyfriend especially loved the beef patties, while I couldn’t get enough of the fish. And, of course, we both enjoyed the chicken.

To top it all off, another employee also stepped in to help me find what I needed. The kindness, patience, and outstanding customer service I received here made my experience unforgettable. I’ll absolutely be coming back!

Came in a few days ago to get produce, bread and dates. Bread was expired. I took it to the front and asked the lady if she had anymore, to which she said no. We stared at each other for 10 seconds and I asked her what she wanted me to do with the expired bread. She asked me to put it back! I immediately checked the rest of the cart. Dates were expiring in 2 weeks! Produce was not fresh and even the non-perishable goods were questionable.

Honestly I don’t like writing negatively but this has gotten to the point where I have to. This is the 3rd time this has happened. I bought chicken and when I got home and opened the package the chicken smells rotten. I let it go the first 2 times. One time I got chicken and it had 3 legs.
