Save yourself the headache and move elsewhere. It’s a beautiful property but looks are deceiving.
Summary: Communication was piss poor. I signed a lease here. Moved from Florida only to arrive and be told that the unit was not available and the only solution that was offered was to void the lease and leave me without a place to stay. The leasing agent threaten to call the police as I sat in the office in distress.
The details to this are sickening. Overall I would steer clear of The Grayson.
Management, Ashley Williams, has an ugly attitude, is condescending, unresponsive and ultimately lacks professionalism. Her along with the leasing agent ,AChante, made moving 16 hours from Florida an absolute nightmare.
I applied for an “available” unit back in April. I called before applying to ensure that it was available. Although, my move in date wasn’t until June. I signed my lease back in April. After signing the lease the office staff became unresponsive. I was changed units twice and both times was informed by the ATT account manager and not by The Grayson. I spoke to Ashley directly and I was informed that the unit I initially applied for was not in fact available as it was under an eviction process and same for the second unit that I was then changed to. So they’re advertising units that aren’t actually available.
A new lease was sent out and there was discrepancy in the base rent price. They wanted to charge me more then what was initially signed.
I communicated via email as they do not answer phone calls. After going back and forth the amount was corrected but my move in fees weren’t adjusted. The leasing agent, AChante, scheduled a call to resolve the issue but she never called. This was a week before my move in date. I emailed Ashley several times to also resolve my concern. No response.
I drove 16 hours from Florida and this is where this gets worst.
Ultimately, I was told that the unit was not available as it needed last minute work...the day of my lease start date. My move in time was pushed back by Ashely. At some point she had no answer as to when I’d be able to move in and her only solution was to offer to void my lease leaving me without a place to go. I asked for her supervisors number to which she told me that she did not have. She hung up the phone in my face and did not call back. I drove to The Grayson and was told that she went to lunch. I guess me not having a place to live after signing a lease which was effective that date wasn’t important enough to her. I waited for her to return. As I sat in the lobby in total distress because I did not have a place to go the leasing agent threaten to call the police on me if I did not vacate the property.
I was able to contact Grey Star corporate by Googling their information and they gave me the Regional property managers phone number. I later discovered that Ashley, the property manager, had no idea that I was moving in. Therefore they were unprepared. The unit had not been walked through until that morning when I arrived. I attempted to communicate with them several times before my move in date and received zero response via email.
Ashely refused to speak to me and took zero accountability. She was extremely nasty and childish throughout the entire ordeal. The regional supervisor, Denise, was polite as was the new leasing agent Allison.
Allison should be the property manager as she was responsive and did what she could to communicate with me while I was there... all while , Ashley, the property manager hid in her office and Achante was no where to be found because she no called no showed that morning.
The entire office staff with the exception of Allison needs to be replaced. I would not recommend The...

I have been living at this property for over two years, and when I say it has drastically gone down since new management staff took over about six months ago, I cannot emphasize this enough. Terrible is an understatement.
Let’s start with what they call “Luxury” apartments. We haven’t lived in luxury in quite awhile. The pool is always closed because it’s being “fixed”, the entry and exit gates are always broken which has caused multiple incidents of theft and vandalism on the property, they cannot keep a maintenance staff because they all quit, so no repairs are being done in the units.
We have been without a working dishwasher and freezer for FOUR months, causing us to lose several hundred dollars worth of groceries, and when we addressed this with the office, they stated they hired vendors for maintenance, sent him to our home, in which he threatened and verbally assaulted us. When we told the office staff about his behavior and unprofessionalism, and informed them we were concerned for our safety and could not account for anyone’s mental health in today’s climate, and did not want any more strange “vendors” returning to our home, not only did they NOT apologize for his behavior, but told us we would need to wait until they hired someone permanent to fix our maintenance issues, and made it seem like WE had done something wrong. As of today, our appliances still have not been fixed, but we have several emails from them stating someone would be coming.
They’ve also implemented a HORRIFIC parking system which causes residents and their guests cars to be towed pretty often. There are almost no visitor spaces, and as a tenant you only get SEVEN(7) guests permits per month! That is ridiculous! We cannot even have family over for Sunday dinner anymore because we don’t have enough permits for our big family.
Not to mention they never have their “systems” updated, so we often get threatening, grammatically incorrect emails stating that they’re doing audits on garage units/carports and you’ll get towed if you park in either, even if you’re paying for it, until they “finish” the audit, which never happens. To add insult to injury, these emails always end with staff/office is available by “appointment only”, to discuss any issues, which is a joke because they NEVER answer the phone.
I have never seen or lived anywhere with such unpleasant and unprofessional staff. Greystar used to keep a standard of quality you could count on, but once they replaced David Murphy and Lindey with Achante and Ashley Williams, the quality of service plummeted, and any semblance of luxury left with them.
Save yourself the trouble and...
Read moreI wish I could give zero stars. The apartments weren’t horrendous when I lived there (though I would say extremely overpriced when I lived there several years ago, I’d imagine it’s even more overpriced now), but what really soured the place is the management. They are a bunch of ill-informed, rude CROOKS. When we terminated our contract early, we payed that fine (which is to be expected), but we were also informed of an additional fine to be paid due to “damage” to the apartment, which if memory serves (it’s been over THREE years since I lived there, so you know, it’s been a while) entailed the carpet needing to be torn up due to water damage and excessive lent behind the dryer that was not properly attached to the wall. When we went in to ask more about it, we were told to not worry about it as they were remodeling. So, we didn’t.
Fast forward to September 2022…a whole pandemic has come and “gone” and we get a letter from a debt collector saying we owe money to the Grayson. So we call for clarification and we were told by management, I believe by Ashley that there was this system wide glitch that resulted in several former residents being flagged as owing money and we shouldn’t need to worry about. I was asked to send the letter to their email, which I did. She also told us if the debt collector calls back to call them back and they would take care of it.
Fast forward again to today. We are still getting calls from the debt collector, so we call the Grayson where we get a whole different story. Very rudely, Ashanti informs us that we actually do owe money and because of the time that has passed we have to pay through the debt collector.
So, I don’t know why one person was so ill informed and why one person was so rude, but this dynamic was the theme of my experience as a resident and now after being a resident. Do not move there. Management has no respect for its tenants and are only interested in getting their grubby hands on your money. I am so glad to be out of that nasty environment and I highly highly encourage any potential tenants to seek alternatives. Apply at...
