John and Gerry’s Fruit Stand — Local services in Springdale Township

This place has a fresh great tasting fruit and produce. I shopped here for over 30 years. I buy from them as much as i can. I lived in blawnox and went here to buy everything i need because the product at the larger commercial stores is not any good. I was there yesterday. The staff are great. They are knowledgeable about what they sell and pleasant to be around. I talked with the owner's son about a product called Sorgrum which piqued his intrest, and he wanted to know more. I LOVE this market. It's got that old town feel and the people (mostly young) work so hard and they are so polite and helpful. Most of time it's a quick in and out. They have everything you need for a meal. Milk, eggs, cheese, butter, breads, pies, honey, jams, oils, veggies, fruit, dry fruits, chips, candy, drinks,.....I'm sure I'm missing some things lol. I think they sell pints of Glenn's Custard. Then there's the garden center. Even their hours are accommodating. Only ONE thing. Unlike some fruit stands and green-groceries, there are no "deals" here. Prices are similar to major grocery stores. Thus, it gets four-stars rather than five. However, the staff is genuinely nice and will help you to your car with purchases. There's a good selection of fruits and vegetables. Also, check out the candy, jams, and the cold case with basic dairy products and specialty cheeses, dips, and spreads.
