I've never been more uncomfortable getting my medicine before. Not only is there no parking most of the time, there is always someone staring the people that go in and out of this establishment down, everyone inside seems like they hate their job, they give you YELLOW bags that scream "hey rob me!" In a neighborhood where that type of behavior is prominent and not only that, this time the budtender didn't even staple my bag! Only reason why I come here is cause it's close but I'd rather drive to Ethos where they staple a BROWN paper bag, so no one notices what it is, and ALWAYS greets me with a smile and conversation. I've even been short a buck or 2 at Ethos and they have spotted me before. My take, just go down the road to Ethos. They are SO much better than Sunnyside where they obviously have no idea what area they are, giving people yellow bags in a sketchy place come on guys.... Edit: I would also like to add that their flower is absolute garbage. Everytime I go there for flower it tastes like cat piss. I have tried different brands and everytime I try it, it makes me gag. I will say that the vapes are nice though! Other than that I'm not sure why I'd ever go here again. And side note, the workers aren't very nice either. They all seem like they are bored, want to leave or couldn't be bothered. Just saying.

The staff up front are usually friendly and the store itself is modern, chic, and well-lit with a pretty run-down parking garage attached. You’re required to show ID upon entry and also at the register and it seems most people order online and just pick up. It’s usually pretty fast even if there’s a line outside. In my experience the average price of flower is around $15-20/g which comes in a heavy, face cream lookin container and carts are usually $50 for a half gram when I go. Some verbiage on their containers could be more clear as well like when you buy “Ground Flower” they really mean “Shake”, so I would clarify what is what before you actually purchase because refunds can only be initiated by the grower of the product you purchased and not by anyone within the actual store itself. You have to send an email and provide pictures etc, they decide wether it’s warranted or not, and then you get credit on your account.

You had a sale listed on your website for Prime African Thai vapes at $20 which is 20% off and it said 30% off for 3 so I ordered 3 - when I got there the sale price wouldn't show up in the cart. Long story short it was your error that they were listed on sale when really they were not, your manager at New Kensington on 11-03-2025 at 9:00am wouldn't honor the advertised price. You need new staff at that store. He didn't even come out or I'd tell you his/her name, they made the old woman at the counter do all the dirty work. That establishment is low. Needless to say I didn't change my order or spend any money there this time and won't in the future. Was this retaliation for all the bad flower buys I returned there? How do you have all that stuff about wellness and decency hanging on your walls?

Least favorite dispensary in the area. Staff are perfectly nice until you have an issue, and then they become belligerent. I've never yelled or been rude or anything. They just only want to have positive interaction. Have gotten molded flower from Cresco before, which is presumably why their containers are now clear. Their selection is lacking. Their prices are not that great, like Ethos absolutely is better.

The parking situation is horrible; genuinely have no idea why they decided to open in that specific location. I realize that the garage was, for a time, functional. But given its age, the owner of Sunnyside really should have considered how safe the garage would be if not simply for the sake of not having a parking garage tip onto their building. But the garage is not safe. So you're either going to park in front of the garage, where there are very few spots. Or you can park in the street where it's public, but you'll get told off by the security guard that the high rise people have a problem with that. You can park on the weird side, where they receive truck. This is all a long form way to say that it's bad.

Waiting in line OUTSIDE is absolutely insane. Every other dispensary has a lobby where people can wait to check in. Heck, Ethos and Rise have chairs there. Sunnyside? You walk into a tiny chamber, as if you are visiting a rehab facility and not a business. You have to present both IDs, they hand you a slip for some inexplicable reason that is a step not performed at other dispensaries, and THEN you get to go to the room with chairs. Except you'll rarely sit in there, usually walking straight to a door that is often non functional....which once again begs the question "Why do you have people waiting in a line outside?" Then you stand in line, for REAL this time, go to the counter, give them the slip, even though every other dispensary just pulls your order up, and then you have to present both IDs again. Really drives home the fact that they don't trust their customers, or their front employees, enough to check IDs only once. Nope. Gotta open and close your wallet 5 times minimum.

Do the employees talk about terps? Literally only 2 employees have said anything to me about terpenes since I got my card. And neither of those employees were the person who did the little "tutorial" at the beginning. The employees are just people who like pot, not people who understand it. But you can tell that just by how they talk about it. They're not allowed to use the word high, but they do. They're not allowed to have their phones, but they do. They're supposed to be understanding that their patients have a number of conditions that may prevent them for standing for long periods or mental disorders that don't respond well to employee angst and general passive aggression. Unprofessional, to say the least.

I stopped coming here entirely a while ago, though just now reviewing. I will DRIVE PAST Sunnyside to get on the bridge to go to Ethos instead. Because their employees are tolerable, considerate people. Because money stretches farther there. Because their staff knows what they're talking about. Because they don't make you check into the dispensary as if you're dropping off clothes for a loved one at rehab. And because everywhere ELSE has parking.

You've lost $200-$350 a week from me. That might not be a lot to you, but I'm still glad you didn't get that money. You chase away the customers that aren't buying RO ground flower when you run a business like this. You're only rated highly on Google maps because you're a weed store and...

First off let me start by saying….IT’S JUST BUD PEOPLE! Reading through some of these reviews has me a tad confused at how you think the process is supposed to go and what YOU believe you’re entitled too, and expect. 1…When you place your order it CLEARY reads on the website: Product availability in-store is SUBJECT TO CHANGE. We cannot guarantee the items in your online order will be available when you arrive at the store. I have only ever have them be out of something I ordered once or twice in the two years I’ve been coming to this specific store. Bottom line things happens, computers have errors with inventory, OK, find something else comparable and move on. This brings me to number 2…THEY FILL YOUR ORDER WHEN YOU ARRIVE! Why would you expect a place to fill your order before you show up and pay? I’ve asked about this before, if they filled all the hundreds of orders they got before you showed up half of you probably wouldn’t show up and I’m sure they don’t want to and you should you expect them to put hundreds of miscellaneous items back and deal with inventory after they work day. NOT TO MENTION this doesn’t make it fair to the other customers that will miss out because you ordered 15 grams of bud that YOU DONT PICK UP! Number 3: The staff…THIS IS RETAIL PEOPLE! They are working 12 hour shifts IN A RETAIL SETTING…I have never personally had any issues with any staff there. They cool. Everyone has been pretty friendly and upbeat and chatty with me on every visit. Side note: THEY WORK IN NEW KEN!!! I’m sure they have seen SOME THINGS! Have you seen some of y’all? I’ve been there and on occasion have seen other customers fighting with each other, come in drunk, one shoe…NO SHOE…back end and jelly rolls hangin out. I’m sure that gets old. No problems here for me on that end. Like I said…it’s RETAIL people. They are human. So shout out to the staff. You all put up with a lot....

Edit: After consulting with management over these issues they have satisfied my complaints and made every effort possible to ensure my experiences there are always pleasant. I have returned 3 times since this review and it has been good each time, but the policy of reservations is now listed on the website so get there soon after you order!

Until recently this was my go-to for my medical needs. They typically have fair prices and a decent selection for most budgets and a friendly staff. I'm not satisfied with my last two visits and I believe some things need addressed.

Most times, staff is very friendly, happy, and eager to help. I didn't get that kind of service with one of the cashiers recently and yes, I can be understanding about having a bad day, we all get them. This isn't the reason entirely for my low rating.

I was let down the last visit. I placed my order during the day and picked up in the evening. When I arrived, I was told they had sold out of a particular product on my order and there was no similarly priced alternative. I was really disappointed and left without selecting a more expensive product.

It's possible this is more my own fault for expecting an order to be counted as a sale and an inventory system to keep track of stock. In an industry such as this, regulated as it is, I certainly did expect product counts to be kept track of.

Just know now, if you place an order early in the day, they may sell the items you wish to purchase and leave you without medicine by the time you come to pick up your items. An order is in NO WAY A RESERVATION so don't expect to get what you order. You may have to purchase a more expensive alternative. In retail, this is known as bait and switch... I don't know what to call it in...
