ALDI — Local services in Springfield

I’m a newbie to Aldi. Went on a Saturday night in their last hour before closing so it was not at all crowded. Regarding prices & selection: I came needing strawberries and was so impressed by the price (on sale @

I have checked and double checked prices everywhere and there's not one store that can compete with Aldi. Their produce is fresh and somehow larger than anywhere else. Example, the broccoli and cauliflower are perfect and a great size, unlike other stores. Some produce is weighed by the lb, but is still cheaper. I purchased a papaya elsewhere and paid almost $6. I didn't realize that it was $1.25 a lb. Aldi's is 89¢.

The weekly specials in the home department are amazing. I have to wear blinders when I pass by or I would not have any money for groceries. I have bought an electric pressure cooker, $39, egg cooker, meat grinder, etc. All still working perfectly 5 years later. Most of their brands are made in Germany. Their chocolate from Germany is second to none.

Don't put up your nose at Aldi. You'll get the best food and products while saving a lot of money that can be used for fun or savings!

There's an Aldi based in every direction in Springfield, so there's one near you.

One other thing, my whole yard is landscaped by Aldi. During Spring, they have beautiful plants and trees and gardening tools to help with planting.

Rebecca the cashier is rude, condescending, petty and racist and apparently feels as though Aldi is so short handed her job is totally secure. It probably is since the manager stands there like a scared little boy afraid to make her behave accordingly. My two year old grandson has more guts!!

Update: went back and avoided her by using the self checkout lane, which was a much more friendly option. As I was walking out, this woman hollers across the room while waiting on another customer to berate me for my previous review. Very professional to say the least. But the real kicker is that here it is ten days later and I end up at a checkout next to this garbage at another store and she still can’t let it go!! She starts an argument and the lady waiting on her couldn’t get her to shut up long enough to cash her out…this all started over a cart, by the way. Waiting for corporate to call me back again after I managed to get my hands on the district managers cell. We will see if they want to tolerate it or if I should follow up with law enforcement. Was told after today they have enough...
