I knew when I walked into Game Cycle for the first time--I would make a lifelong friend with the manager, Randy. He wore a Clive Barker’s “Nightbreed” shirt and I showed him my custom wallet of the movie. Then, I explored the video store side before I ventured into the arcade. I thought I was there for one pinball machine only and that was my favorite, “Monster Bash”. With a handful of quarters, I did my best to obtain 1 million points. After reaching my goal--I played several other pinball machines including: Metallica, Super Mario, Street Fighter, The Addams Family, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and South Park. One machine took my quarters by accident and I notified their employee, Elijah a.k.a. Little Elijah. He reimbursed me for the quarters without question. The hospitality at Game Cycle was top notch that Little Elijah gave me a bottled of water for the road. I also walked away with an action figure of Dr. Decker from “Nightbreed” and the NES version of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”, after sharing stories with Randy. If you’re in Springfield, make sure you stop by Game Cycle. You’ll be glad you did.

Really cool little store, in a once populated, abandoned city.

Walked in here expecting nothing, and was very surprised of the game selection. I asked if he had PC Engine games, and the owner said no. Then I looked and saw a stack of TurboGrafx games. Most shops wouldn't even know what PC Engine is, and if they did, they would have directed me to the TurboGrafx section... if they had one. They probably wouldn't even know what TurboGrafx is honestly. So, they know their stuff. They get a star for that.

The prices seemed very fair. I picked up a copy of Dragon Quest VI on DS for a very reasonable price. Maybe even lower than eBay. Most of these old games stores have crazy prices. I also didn't see any "Nintendo Tax". Where shops list popular Nintendo branded retro games at double, or even triple the value, cause they know they will sell to new retro gamers, that don't understand how to look up prices. Zelda, Mario, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest etc.. generally have a Nintendo Tax at these retro shops. It's nice to see some stores with prices to compete with eBay.

He also has a bunch of old movies for sale.

Probably the coolest part of the shop is the in store arcade. Probably 30+ machines you can play on. All authentic arcade and pinballs.

I travel a lot from Columbus to Dayton to visit family. I will be stopping here a few times a year with a wad of cash. The selection of quality titles rivals almost every store in Columbus, and the Arcade sets it apart. This shop has to have a monopoly of all the retro-gaming goods in Springfield.

If I lived here the guy would kick me out cause this is probably the only place in Springfield to...

Not customer friendly . Will sell you anything then give you hassle and call you a liar when you try to return games that do not work properly . We spent $100 dollars on games of which only one worked . We brought the other games back and were told it was something wrong with the game system not the merchandise we bought from them . We met them half way and let them clean the games , took them home and tried them again . Some games improved but others did not . We returned with the games to exchange the ones that had not been fixed by the cleaning . She told me what I said could not possibly be true that she had 27 years of experience that obviously has not taught her anything . I have 0 experience accept for playing the games but COMMON SENSE tells me if one game works and the others do not then after cleaning other games work and some still do not its obviously the games and not my game console that is the issue here . She begrudgingly gave me an in store credit for the amount of the games that wouldn't work which she undoubtedly will put back on the shelf for you to buy so watch out !!!! I wouldn't have a problem with the business they conduct here , you do take a certain risk when you buy used games , but if you have been sold something that is defective good customer service is what keeps you coming back and they should do what is needed to keep their customers happy . The games could have been exchanged without the negative comments and I would have left a...

Not too long ago, my Switch was stolen/taken from me inside of a case that had 9 solid copies of games as well as two memory cards with a ridiculous amount of digital copies. When I was positive it was not in my possession any longer, I personally visited 2-3 businesses to warn them of someone possibly trying to sell a stolen Switch- a description of all items was given. About two days later, I received a call from the gentlemen at Game Cycle- they had been kind enough to take down my information and subsequently informed me that the items they believed to be my possessions were in the shop. I came to Game Cycle with the all of the device information I could find from the original purchase and after confirming the numbers matched the device, I was given back my Switch and all games lost. These people are the best of the best in the gaming industry. They will go out of their way to assist you in finding a product you will enjoy; they will even go far out of the way to return that which has been taken from you. My wife and I have been coming to Game Cycle since we moved to the area, I won’t go to another shop unless I do not have another option simply because I want to support all of the people who make such a great experience possible. From the large selection of games (all consoles including retro!!!!!) to the expansive aisles of DVDs as well as the astounding arcade, Game Cycle is a staple in the community for me and many...
