Very interesting first experience here today. I had an A/V receiver that was acting up so i took it in for repairs and diagnostic. While checking in the device he asked me for my address. i asked if it was required as i am uncomfortable giving out personal info it it is not needed. He then told me to take my equipment and get out of his store. I asked why and he said he did not have time for it. i then told him that his customer service was terrible and that if i, the customer, did not feel comfortable giving out personal info it should be ok. He then called me an @sshole and told me to get out of his store. On my way out i told him,"I am sorry you are having a bad day." To which he replied,"I am sorry you are an @sshole." My experience was the inverse of great. I am sure others have had better experiences here, but all i can do report is my own. So if anybody else has had something similar happen at this establishment, you are not alone. Would highly recommend any other place than this.
Hope his day gets better!
UPDATE 4.11.17
In response to your memory of the event, all I can say is you are most definitely mistaken. A liar to be accurate. In fact you chose to leave out the part where you came outside to yell obscenities at me while I was getting in my truck to leave. How was i the abusive one if I was on the retreat trying to keep the situation from escalating further? Good luck with your business and I encourage others to come up with their own opinions from their experience at this local business as anyone can have a bad day. At least I hope that this was the explanation for my experience. I believe my point is proven, however by other reviews and your antagonistic response in which your are still insulting a...
Read moreA complicated situation.. I have severe mobility issues to boot..I bought my first Yamaha PC, a large int. Amp..
Happy old man system completo..but
It goes bad under a month out. I'm familiar with protection re power procedures. To a point.. this point was reached..I then had a large hard to handle object to ship.. So cool having hi end hi fi repair in our town.. area Yamaha warranty to boot..they don't hand those warranty services out instead of fries. I called Jim's and was impressed with his just the facts..he assured me he would unloading and loading...he did..
They are not uncles or buddies. Jim's must have productive work days...how many of us has chased a connection problem for hours? They can't give their time away.
But .
My problem was with Yamaha. Every time angled for a new replacement amp, they called Jim's.. ticked me off, Jim's was not the problem. I call them they called Jim's.. he understood and was pleasant.
Well. No new amp, not even a Yamaha hat. Jim's made the fix..amp perfect. I do think it felt tighter connection wise.. Anyway, we are lucky to have Yamaha warranty level hi fi repair here locally...he did explain what they thought caused...
Read moreI recently moved to Springfield and needed service on my Pioneer PL-55X turntable. They are a cash only business. No plastic or checks. To look at it and evaluate the problem was $115 up front. I believe that’s reasonable considering cost of time to stay in business. They also told me upfront it would be several weeks to get back with the diagnosis. After a month I get a call they could repair it but would cost $118 additional. The turntable is 46 years old and it plays like the day I bought it. I have other vintage stereo equipment I asked if they could service. They were straight forward that they would not work on them because parts are no longer available. If you’re looking for someone in Springfield who is knowledgeable and honest about electronics repair...
