Bad customer service and bad craftsmanship. I had my wedding rings lock soldered together. They told me a week tops to get it done. On the last day they call me at 4:30pm to say my ring is done. Fine. I pick up my ring and notice that the soldering job is splattered and not appealing to look at. I advised the clerk and she told me if I had issues with the ring to bring it in again. Not 48 hours after I pick up my ring, my one band completely snaps off the soldering point in two. I contact Rolfes, they advise me to bring it in to get fixed. I drop it off on a Thursday, they say it'll be done in a week. The next Thursday rolls around, I call at around 12pm to get an update. They tell me they need until Friday or Monday at the latest. I wait until Monday at 2pm to call. A woman answers the phone and is completely rude to me. Telling me they didn't have a deadline down of Friday or Monday and that they are busy. I'm fuming at this point. She calls me at 4:30pm the same day to tell me it's ready to be picked up... I pick it up yesterday, the soldering job is still splattered. At this point, it seemed more reinforced so I say thank you and go on. I wear my rings 24/7 as one usually does. This morning I wake up, and my finger is turning green where the solder was added. My wedding rings are ruined. I'm so fed up with this company. I would stay away...

We were referred to Rolfes Jewelers by a friend. I’ve only been to mall jewelry stores in the past...those days are gone. I’d definitely recommend considering an independent jeweler. Originally went in to get husband’s resized...which was done professionally and quickly. We then decided to upgrade my wedding ring using the stones from my wedding set and another ring we showed Steve. Without much useful direction from me (“I want it to be “shiny!”), Steve created a beautiful (and yes, shiny) set within the estimated time (which is impressive because I really wasn’t very helpful with how I wanted the new set to look) using our stones plus some stones we knew we would need to purchase, and very close to the estimated cost. We originally told Steve we weren’t overly concerned about when the rings would be finished, but then we decided it would be nice to get them for our anniversary. I wish I had seen Rob Craven’s review before taking my ring in for repair at Rolfes Jewlers!! It would have saved me a lot of heartache!!! I took my ring to have a stone replaced. Went to pick it up and multiple stones were replaced (color did not match) and several of the stones in the setting were now cracked. I explained I was not happy that he had damaged half of the stones and tried to pass it off as repaired. It was clear he was in over his head. I asked him to replace the stones he cracked and after six months of run around, I just gave up, picked up the ring and plan to take it somewhere else to see if it can be saved. I told the lady behind the counter that there were still damaged stones in the setting and she said that was the best he could do. They damaged my ring, had no remorse and just wanted to get rid of me. Save yourself money and heartache and have your jewelry repairs done by...
