I’ll never ever shop here again. I loved going in there until recently. No expectations are set at all. That woman store manager Kristen can suck a spoiled egg. I got a mattress and box spring from there about 5yrs ago or so. So now that I’m looking for a new one I go back to slumberland. Let the sales associate know what I’m looking for and I put a down payment on it. Fast forward to the delivery day and all I get is a mattress with no box spring. I call the store and Kristen answers so I tell her what’s going on. Unfortunately it wasn’t disclosed to me that I was only buying a mattress for over $700… I immediately tell her that I no longer want it and can I have a refund. She says because it’s a mattress that they can’t take it back. I’m literally looking at the truck still in my parking lot. So I ask if there was someone else to speak with. And in a condescending tone she says “I’m the manager”. I say give me the number to corporate, this woman gave me the wrong number on purpose. I call the “service center” thinking it’s corporate but it wasn’t. The service center do transfer me to corporate and I speak to someone. Later that day I decide to send a couple emails to corporate because we can all make a phone call but it takes more energy to send a email, so I sent two. I hear back immediately and they say “we will process the return/refund”. Only thing is, they can’t pick up the mattress till 12/14/23, then process the refund. I’m looking at another month timeline. I ultimately cancel the return and just bought a box spring and ordered a bed off Amazon. I went to Sam’s and saw a mattress for $400 and a box spring for $200 but already had paid on slumberland. There is nooooo way possibly I’ll ever spend $700+ on a single mattress. I’m definitely on a budget and I was so frustrated and got no empathy at all from Kristen. I will never shop back here again, I unsubscribed from emails and will verbally tell friends and family as well as all my social media followers about slumberland. I was warned from a friend of mine but still shopped with them. Never ever again will I go back, and it also make me more aware to ask “what’s in the box”. I got a clearance item that was like a quilt set. The tag said 10pcs but when I got home it was a 8pc set. Dallas removed the original label and I wasn’t able to go back to double check. As good and caring as the staff was during the buying process they were 180 the opposite after. Promised delivery date after promised delivery date was changed so many times we lost track. There was rarely contact to us about the delays unless we initiated it. At those points it would be deer in the headlights looks like what do you expect us to do. The items aren’t here. No understanding. No communication. Just oh well it will get here when it gets here. The delivery guys we great on each of the separate deliveries. In fact they were as good as the initial sales experience was. I would not recommend buying from here due to the lack of professionalism and customer service between sale and delivery. Still haven’t heard from anyone in sales post final delivery…. No thanks for your patience. No we’re sorry you had to wait. How do you like your furniture? Is there anything else I can do for you? Nope just collected the commission and left us to floundering after. Six month for all to be delivered when original promise was no longer than three. Yikes.
Cathy was fabulous. She was focused on us and finding out our wants and needs. She wasn’t pushy or over selling. She even was supportive of us thinking it over and said she’d be looking into our lists and getting back to us. We went down the street to another store to look. They sales staff there was either under trained or not very well educated on process and procedures. We were passed off to a gentleman who was by himself manning the entire furniture depart and basically couldn’t take care of us. We decided to come back to Slumberland where Cathy was great, the deals were great and we felt valued as customers. We wound up buying our bedroom set which we were going to wait until tax time for but Cath explained the advantages to doing it now. We also purchased our family room furniture and a sleeper sofa for the guest room. I would highly recommend Cath as a professional, strong product knowledge caring consultant. Our items won’t arrive for several weeks due to the pandemic but as for this part of the process very happy so far. Cath gets five stars. Slumberland deals gets five stars. Thanks Cath...
Read moreProduct is great, help in the store was great, easy paying. BUT, they put my order under my friends name, phone number, and address because we bought at the same time. So, when I called to check on the status of my order, it couldn't be found for the longest time. We were going to have them delivered at the same time because we live a block apart. Slumberland never called me to let me know an estimated delivery date or arrival date at the store. I called 3x, expecting a call back after the associate checked with a warehouse manager, and never got a call back. The 3rd call, the associate told me my couch was coming from the mattoon location. I then advised him that mattoon was actually closer to me, so they could deliver it from there. But, he switched it to 'pick up' so that it would go to Springfield. The 4th time I called and spoke to someone, I didnt get a call back until 7pm where they then told me it would be about another month before I would get my delivery. I was then told that since my friend had already picked up hers, rather than have it delivered, that the next time they would be in my area would be mid September, mind you, I ordered this couch about July 12th. Luckily, I had a friend who was able to pick up the couch for me about mid August. I have yet to see of my delivery fee was reimbursed. Over all, very frustrated and unhappy with the service after the sale...
