We live in Rolla and arrived 45 minutes prior to close. We were reminded over the intercom at 15 minutes and 5 minutes prior of their closing time. When we arrived to the checkout, with almost $100 in merchandise, I asked the cashier where something was located in the store. She told me and then said,"But we're closing," in a very abrupt manner. I pointed to the location she had mentioned and I said I'd run over and get it, and she said,"But, we're closing." I was stunned by her rudeness. Then I asked her what their customer service policy was, telling her I wasn't greeted or helped during our visit and she said,"I'm sorry if you felt like you weren't helped or greeted. We're very busy on Friday nights." She also said,"If you needed help, you could've gotten one of us at the register." There may have been 3 cars in the parking lot and there were more workers than patrons. When I explained that we were coming from out of town, she asked where we were from. I told her Rolla, and her response was: "Oh. You're from Missouri then. That's not far." I said I had worked in retail before and then I stopped myself from explaining because I realized how little she valued treating the customer with respect. We will NEVER shop here again!!! The explanation here does not begin to convey how rude she was to me!
I have worked in customer service for a very long time, and I try to be respectful of closing times because I know how it feels to have customers walking in at the last minute, but I've always been trained to never let that on to the customer! This was an...
Read moreThis is one of the largest Catholic books and supply stores weâve found so far in our travels. We love it so much, we often shop here when weâre in St. Louis. What we love most is their wide selection of statues, crucifixes, pictures, gift and special occasion items, medals and jewelry. Though they also stock quite a few nice rosaries of various types, none are handmade. We have, however, found large specialty items here such as crucifixes made by an artist in Italy. Most notable, perhaps, are their extensive Christmas collections, most especially their Fontanini pieces and collectionsâŚwhich are always significantly reduced after Christmas (hint, hint)!
They have sizable departments for books and Catholic parish supplies, nearly all of it slanted toward modern and catering to the Novus Ordo. Though TLM Catholics will still find much to appreciate in this store, they wonât find chapel veils or pre-Vat II literature. But, then, thatâs a typical finding in nearly all Catholic supply stores.
They do have online ordering available with a FAR greater range of books and supplies (AND SALES!) than...
Read moreHad to make two trips get what I needed. Found everything in the store. Went to checkout. They needed my photo id to run my debit card since i wanted to pay for it personally. They would not do it since I accidentally left my photo id at home. What really floored me was they would put it on the church account and bill the church. So I could have left the store with the merchandise with out basically paying. Went back today and got the things I needed for the church in a busy schedule on Christmas eve. Their customer service and policies have a lot to be desired. Not once did they say sorry for the inconvenience. Will be ordering off line if at all possible for our church needs in the future. You lost this customer, who is only 30 years old, trustee of the church, and hopefully will be for a long life to come. They sure made my Christmas more hectic and a...
