As much as I love St. Louis Bread Co in general, I think I'm going to have to give up on this location.
This is a busy location, which is consistently understaffed and out of product. We visited twice this week - once dine-in and once pick-up. The dine-in visit was satisfactory. The staff stood at the counter talking amongst themselves for several minutes while we waited at the register. It looked like it may have been training related, but it would have been nice to have them acknowledge that we were standing there waiting. Our sandwiches were not made correctly (wrong bread, including ingredients that were requested to be removed) but overall we were able to enjoy the meal.
During the drive through visit, I was much more disappointed. First, there were no baguettes left at 7:15 pm on a Monday. Since we were ordering soups, this was a disappointment. Second, we were told that they do not serve potato soup (the soup of the day) after 7:00pm... a restaurant that doesn't serve a soup after 7:00?! I could not believe it. I switched to broccoli cheddar instead. For the third item, we ordered a sandwich only to be told that they were out of that bread as well. Upon arriving home, the items on the sandwich were incorrect. At this point, I'm not willing to go back after spending more than 20 minutes in a drive through line.
With the bread co model, it's understandable that some items will run out throughout the day, but it is the responsibility of management to make more accurate projections for food sales and staffing. Unfortunately, this was just the most recent of a string of bad...
Read moreI wish I could have gotten a hold of the management there to actually speak to them about this, but I called 5 times and it rang on the manager extension until it gave me the busy tone. So since I know this is the only way to ensure they see it here what's up. This place is either A+ or absolute fail. The consistency is none existant. Sometimes I'll order and get an amazing sandwich with plenty of ingredients, and sometime I'll get 2 slices of bread with the absolute minimum. I order delivery often from bread co. 3 times a week on average. Depending on whether I'm at work or not depends on which one delivers. I often wish it was my choice which one delivered. It seems the Richmond heights has an excellent daytime and lackluster night shift, and chippewa is the exact opposite. I understand Panera isn't the most glamorous job in the world, but take some pride in what you do. Please. Today I ordered breakfast to my job and my oatmeal was pretty much just oatmeal. It didn't even fill the container it was in halfway. Normally that wouldn't be a problem but I know for a fact that it doesn't regularly come that way. I know cause I pick it up to go fairly often from Richmond heights Panera and it never disappoints. I dont want anything free. I dont even expect an apology. I just want you to do the job you're paid to do and have some pride. Dont send out anything...
Read moreThe staff there is over worked and under paid. You would think that with all the money this location alone brings in they would appreciate how hard their staff works. I've seen multiple staff members there with thier children and if thats not dedicating your life to a job then i dont know what is. They dont check the dates on the food their serving so ask the date before you order. They never answer the phone regardless of what you're calling for. GLOVES are NOT always used! I know because i worked there. I was fired for not wearing a headset but in my defense covid is real and I wasnt comfortable sharing headsets. Plus when customers come to the drive-through they dont always know the name of what they're ordering. So its hard to make their order while at the same time listenin to them change their mind or modify their order lol, because by the time you finish saying what you want to order its done in less than 1 whole minute so there's really no room for changing your mind or sayin "oh no bacon please". Once again i know because i made it. If they focused on quality and accrucy instead of speed more so many orders won't be messed up. Everbody is rushing and panicking. Me i thrive in a fast-paced environment. Im not the best with my attitude but im the best in any kitchen. Yo lost...
