Mitchell Community College — Local services in Statesville

As a staff member I just wanted to clarify the review by Trudy. We do not ask for proof of residence to use our library. All community college libraries are public. Also, our computers are available to all our patrons for however long they would need to use them. In the event of all of them being used and a student needing to get on one we would probably ask a public library patron to accommodate the student. However we do have an adequate amount of computers that we haven't run into that problem yet. : ) If you want a nice quiet place to study, we are your library! It is especially quiet on days when school is out but we are open. The staff are friendly and willing to help with research and computer needs. We also have many interesting books and movies. Have used the library and computers on numerous occasions. Open to non-college folks with proof of city residence. Student employees helpful when needed. Computer time limited if not a student. Great resource, though! This college is growing fast! Lots of programs not normally available to those not looking for a degree. Short programs/training for those wanting additional information for better jobs, etc. Finally knocked down old hospital on West End St and a new nursing school will begin to be erected soon according to press releases. Will bring more traffic to area but learning facilities are always a boom...
