Lower South Falls is a beautiful block waterfall with a path behind it. Over the years a rock wall was constructed for safety but it was better before as now water builds up behind the wall on the trail as they forgot to make a drain. I remember it being so much more memorable before as the mist hit your face as you walked behind the falls and you could look down the cascading water below the trail now you are just trying to keep your feet dry and it isn't as fun of an experience. It is silly when people don't have enough sense to walk carefully so things like this ugly wall are not built. The waterfall is gorgeous! A fern grotto is along the trail and another grotto is below to the side of the waterfall. It was much nicer when you could go to the base of the waterfall as now those small trails are closed for hazardous risks. These areas should be enjoyed not banned.
