Don’t miss Oregon’s Silver Falls State Park, where you can walk behind not just one waterfall, but several. Check out the famous South Falls and see what a 177-foot curtain of water looks like from behind. It’s part of the Trail of Ten Falls, a spectacular hiking trail that takes you past 10 waterfalls as it weaves through a magical forested landscape. This 7.2 mile loop is moderate, with an overall elevation change of 800 feet, but if you just want to walk behind the first waterfall, South Falls, it’s a half-mile loop. The volume of the falls depends on the amount of rainfall and snowmelt. But when they’re really flowing, you’ll definitely want to wear your raincoat! Silver Falls has been called the “crown jewel” of the Oregon State Park system, and we think it has the feel of a national park. Have you been there yet?

What is amazing is that all of the facilities here are perfection- very updated, extremely well maintained, the park rangers and service people put in a tremendous amount of work to keep it like this. This hike is so incredibly popular to see the waterfalls that you can walk behind and people come from all over just to experience this. Come early because the parking lot fills by mid-day, but definitely come. This became one of my favorite excursions that I have done in...

These are really clean and well kept the restrooms. It might seem odd to leave a review for restrooms, but these ones are well stocked and clean. Very easy access from the parking lot or when you're heading out on the trail, and a nice bench in front if you need to wait for someone using it. This restroom was far nicer than most I've seen in state and...

Not just the restroom, but all the facilities here were amazing. Particularly the cafe and nature shop, but the bathroom at the parking entrance to the trails was the cleanest trail bathroom I've ever seen?? That aside, well worth the hike. Absolutely beautiful trails and you can go behind...
