Lower South Falls is the second waterfall youâll come across if youâre doing the Trail of Ten Falls in a clockwise direction, and it is absolutely beautiful.
If youâre short on time and canât do the full trail, I highly recommend combining South Falls and Lower South Falls â these two alone will give you the best experience of the parkâs beauty without taking up your entire day. Together, they can be completed in under an hour, and both offer truly memorable views.
Similar to South Falls, the trail here allows you to walk behind the waterfall, giving you a unique perspective and some fantastic photo opportunities. The sound of the rushing water combined with the lush green surroundings creates a peaceful and refreshing atmosphere.
The path to Lower South Falls is well-maintained and relatively easy, making it accessible for most visitors, including families.

The way down with the stairs might be a bit treacherous, it can be wet, slippery and/or muddy, so be prepared.
