The savings from shopping at Aldi can be incredibly substantial, especially compared to Martin's. Before moving to Winchester, I did most of my shopping at a Save-a-Lot and still had to make a stop into Martin's every month or so. Let me say, Aldi's is 10x better than Save-a-Lot in terms of quality. I love that they offer high quality stuff like organic produce and fair-trade coffee. Some of the more "specialty" stuff isn't always available, or is available on a limited time basis, so that's kind of a setback (stuff like kalamata olives, plain whole milk yogurt, etc.) But honestly, that's not worth me going back to Martin's. Unfortunately, the closest store to me is Martins, so I will run there on occasion for essentials like milk if I wake up and realize I'm out. But otherwise, I can plan a weekly trip to Aldi's and cover everything I'll feed my family. If we are budget crunching, I can feed my family (2 adults, 2 kids) on less than $60 and still have fresh fruit and vegetables. Usually my bill is closer to $100, because I inevitably stock up on some limited time specialty items (they always have a great selection of frozen pizza) or pick out something from the non-grocery section. One final thing - when I was in high school I worked for a Martin's type store as a cashier. We weren't allowed to sit while on the register. Even at age 16, my back and feet would be dying after a full shift from standing the whole time. I like that Aldi lets their cashiers sit (and their checkout goes WAY faster than any other store). Plus, I think I saw a sign saying they were hiring associates for $12 an hour. Pretty sure Martin's is like $8 an hour or less, which I find odd because their prices are SO much higher (they do have a gigantic selection, but I find I'm happy with...
Read moreThis is my favorite grocery store hands down! They always have quality food, and their prices are amazing! They are ranked number 1 in customer service. If that doesn’t convince you then check this out. Now people complain for two reasons at Aldi. Because it costs a quarter to use a cart and they don’t just hand out plastic bags. Look at it from my point of view. #1 I am not a cashier, and they are one of the few grocery stores that still pays someone else who is a professional at being a cashier to scan your items. #2 our planet needs less plastic floating around, and I enjoy that I have to use reusable bags to help my fellow man live in a better world. #3 you can absolutely leave your cart lying around, at the cost of a quarter. They give you a choice! That is something I miss from 20 years ago. Quality with a choice, and friendly service! Everything I have mentioned in this review is fact. Give them a try, and promote quality business in...
Read moreI normally shop at this Aldi and its great. Tonight I came in and was told multiple items in my cart were not for sale and I would have to come back tomorrow morning if I wanted them, but that they would sell out fast. I have these items in my cart because they were out for sale, they ring up at the same price as online and the employee makes me put them back even indicating they will be back 1st thing in the morning to buy one.
So pretty much if an employee didnt see me with my cart I could have bought it and I would have never known these weren't for sale. Guess the other people that had some of the same items either got stopped as well or got lucky and was able to buy the items that were out.
If items are not for sale dont put them out for sale or dont put them in the system when its still hours...
