Worst hotel I have ever been to!!! It's the echo lodge budget inn in Winchester va. Payed $175 a week plus $50 deposit. I know the saying you get what you pay for but for that amount of money, you should not have to live in this condition. There was sewer coming from the drains a day after I rented it! We were nice about it at first asking them to come fix it and on the fourth day of us being there, it still wasn't fixed! They just poured acid down the drain and tried saying the brown stuff was acid...it definitely wasn't. The room smelled like sewage. We went to the office and the owners son wouldn't even look us in the eye! He was too busy texting. We explained we've been dealing with this for 4 days and his response, "we've been dealing with it for a month" and I asked why he would rent it out then and his response, "we needed the money" we asked for a refund and they said no because they changed the rate on us to $50 a night and said since we stayed 4 days we would have been charged $200 total when 1. The sign said 39.99 a night and 2. We left at 7pm on the fourth day so we should have only been charged for 3 nights. We asked to have the managers cell number and he said "nope that's just for me" can you be anymore rude?! We asked for another room atleast so it wasn't a waste of money but supposedly there weren't any left. But it wasn't healthy to stay there so we packed up and left and lost our money. It's very disappointing to see motels run their businesses like this. But we learned our lesson and contacted the health inspector and they're suppose to go check it out today but I made sure I got as much evidence as I could. I took multiple videos and there's also a video where the pipe busted under the sink and soaked our stuff tht was on the floor...with sewage water!! Please everyone share...
Read moreRooms are super clean; looks freshly painted! Air conditioning works great! TV and beds are oddly placed but found out today the TV is mounted with a swiveling wall Mount so we can angle it to see the screen much better. Unfortunately no WiFi available (make sure to bring mobile hotspots) however they have a pretty nice kitchen set up between the lobby and laundry room that is available for guests to use that has a stove, oven, air fryer, toaster, and etc…. They have 2 washers and 2 dryers that are coin operated and they provide quarters at front desk when change is needed as well as laundry detergent. Towels are not included with room so bring your own or they do provide for an $8 deposit per set. Room rates are unbeatable with pricing when on a budget! We have a closet space with rod to hang clothes, mini fridge and microwave. Plenty of electrical outlets to plug in all devices! Mattresses are not very comfortable so we had to get a mattress pad for the bed, but like I said it’s the best (lowest) priced place in Winchester when on a budget! Motel staff are extremely friendly and helpful! While we are in an end unit room it does seem to be a quiet place. The outdoor space is lovely, with a huge grassy yard with Trees, shade and seating. We do plan to...
Read moreMy room was hotter than it was outside in the middle of August. I complained and was threatened to be kicked out the next day for what was clearly people OUT SIDE MY ROOM hanging out. They essentially wanted me to go outside my room and handle their problems for them because they knew I needed the room at the time. They were also 100% aware of what rooms the loud people were staying in. Tried to tell myself and my wife we couldn't both smoke a cigarette after 10PM that we had to take turns or they were going to kick us out for loitering outside after "quiet time" while the rest of thr hotel is injecting heroin. Snorting cocaine. And smoking Marijuana. Worst place I ever had to stay. Next time I'll buy a tent and sleep in the woods. Owner runs prostitution circle in 3 of the back rooms. Takes advantage of people when they're having hard times. Most disgusting roach infested hole...
