One of my life’s milestone achievements was to click the AIHT website, and make an appointment to speak with Lauren, the director of administrative services. She gives you a tour of the facility to see the available resources which will help you succeed.
With many available career choices at AIHT, I was given the opportunity to begin a challenging and prosperous quest towards attaining a degree in the Cardiovascular Technologist program. With their well-mannered administrative staff, their patient financial aid office, highly trained instructors, and an exceptionally positive school president, we together were able to bring to reality my dreams of becoming an Echocardiographer or cardiovascular technologist.
From day one, the ball rolls, so be prepared to make best friends with your notes, your books, and definitely do your reading. There is no stone unturned in this program. terminology, anatomy, physiology, patient care, ultrasound physics, and the adult echo / vascular modules, are all in sequence to make sense of the externship of 800 hours that must be completed before graduating and entering the registry/national exam.
Instructors such as Dr Sobia, Dr Aum Patel, Dr Mike, are just a few of the names I’d like to give special thanks and recognition to for giving their time and heart into teaching students what they need to know.
Financial aid is available, grants are available, and to be honest, this was so affordable, they will work with you, they want you to be something out there.
The program director was very helpful because she chose a local to do my externship which didn’t only challenge me, but set the standard of what clinical healthcare experiences should be like, and I give her my thanks and owe her my gratitude.
Thank you AIHT, i cannot wait to give back to you. You’ve truly earned your name as one of the best tech schools to attend in Connecticut. I’d like to use this platform to thank the school president, Mr Shah, for his excellency and dedication to his students, his vision, and his commitment for...
Read moreI enrolled in the Medical Billing and Coding program online at AIHT. Throughout the entirety of my time there I was given constant support, they were very patient and understanding and always pushed me to succeed and provided any resources they could to get me to where I wanted to be. Lauren always had a smile and a comforting voice whenever I caked or came into her office having a fit because I was worried about something. Her demeanor is ideal for a flustered student. When I had difficulties meeting the deadline for enrollment I thought that as it. Lauren gave me options and encouraged me to keep trying and I was able to get all paperwork in to start on time. Aum Patel was with me from orientation to externship and his professionalism and easy going personality is the perfect mix when a student is feeling unsure, has questions, needs advice and any sort of help. He helped me find the externship site that fit my needs no matter how long it took to work around what I had going on Aum never gave up and made sure I was able to complete my program. My coding teacher Devasya Patel has the patience of a saint. No matter how many times he had to teach and teach a topic he did it with extreme patience until I understood. I successfully completed the program and got my NHA certification. This was the first major step in a big career change for me and I’m glad I found AIHT. It set the foundation and gave me a chance to see that this is a career I not only can do but actually enjoy doing it. I’ll be moving on to obtain my CPC certification while working on my BS in Health Information Management. When I started at AIHT I was clear on what my future would look like. But with the foundation of knowledge and experience I am leaving with I now have a solid plan for the...
Read moreI attended AIHT classes for DMS before covid and my experience there was excellent. I was accepted right away with an associates compared to other schools where there are wait lists. Sobia was wonderful and patent with her students. There is no tolerance for lazy students who do not practice scanning. Take the opportunity to practice on as many students as you can because it's very different in a real scenario. My vascular externship occurred during covid, so it was extended due to closures. I was placed in another site for which I didn't have a great experience due to the tech that worked there. With the help of the president and school faculty, I was able to graduate. My only regret was not splitting my Externship and doing both DMS and Vascular. I am currently RVS and with no externship in dms I am unable to take the RDMS because you need proof of clinicals to take the ARDMS. I live in RI and vascular sonography is competitive so I suggest also getting registered for either DMS or ECHO. It seems as though a lot of facilities are merging the jobs together. I contacted the school recently about going back for echo and they were quick in response and efficient on the necessary steps that is needed to start. I have been working per diem at a hospital for over a year now and was frustrated with the lack of positions available in RI so that's why I decided to go back to AIHT... HOWEVER I was recently able to secure a new position in Vascular ultrasound a little outside of RI, full time with excellent pay...
Also, after listening the experience and schooling of students from other facilities, I honestly believe that AIHT is the way to go especially in the scanning lab... they do much more than others, you just have to put...
