Generally well stocked, but since it’s a popular store in the local area, hot-commodity items are occasionally hard to get. Thankfully they are usually good about giving rain checks for sale items and restocking quickly.
Produce is almost always fresh. The exceptions are on items that aren’t in season close by, and those are usually still good enough for a meal in the next few days.
Meat is a little smaller than other area grocery stores, but the product is almost always fresh and lean.
The deli is a little difficult to figure out. Their sliced meats and cheeses are kept in a cooler within the employees’ area and not well labeled. Boar’s Head has dominated the better-priced Private Selection (store) label to a point where a deli clerk told me she had to offer Boar’s Head over any other variety, unless specifically asked.
The sushi counter is staffed by a wonderful man who makes excellent rolls to your liking.
The bakery has a wonderful assortment of cookies and cakes pre-made, but is a little light on rolls and other breads.
Frozen and fresh grocery departments are sometimes hard to find what you want since the store is so popular.
Dairy has a nice selection of alternative products for people who need them.
Cashiers are mostly friendly, but rushed. There are not usually enough cashiers or baggers after about 3pm so if you like bagging your own groceries, go then. I even heard one of the cashiers saying they had been told to cut back on hours for the entire checkout.
This store has a Kroger gas station, so you can finally use the points they give you at someplace other than Shell, but the pumps are difficult to figure out at first. At least the staff there are friendly enough, although the skeleton was a...
Read moreI went to this location today. I have a chronic health condition and struggle but today I struggled more than normal. There were employees all over the store due to the remodel. As a side note, the remodel is terrible and made my shopping trip even harder. There are no benches or chairs to take a break mid shopping trip and the majority of the shoppers today had gray hair and could probably use a rest. I stopped a man in a gray sweater and a woman and mentioned something about chairs, while visibly panting to catch my breath. I was told “Sorry hun”. At one point I sat on the floor next to my cart and several employees walked past me. I then went to the clinic area and sat in those chairs to rest before I I headed for one last item and then to check out. When I got to the register, Dawn could see I was struggling and quickly offered me assistance with unloading my cart and a step stool to sit on while she rang up my groceries. Susie unloaded my cart and then took my cart to the only benches left outside the doors so I could wait for my neighbor to finish. Matt also offered to get my groceries to my car for me, but I was with my neighbor and she helped me. This store is not friendly for those with disabilities. A motorized scooter would not have helped me with my needs. Profits over people will cause you to lose the people and with them go the profits. So maybe consider taking care of your community and see what happens to your profits. It’s a shame that corporate employees were present and were part of the problem today. The lowest paid employees are the ones who took care of me today. Please give them the recognition they deserve for showing excellent...
Read moreI don’t normally write reviews, but this experience at Kroger deserves a warning flare for anyone thinking of shopping there.
First, my bread was completely smashed—looked like someone used it as a seat cushion or stress ball before tossing it in the bag. What’s the point of offering fresh-baked goods if they’re flattened beyond recognition by the time I get home?
But that wasn’t even the worst part. My frozen items were packed in the same bag as cleaning chemicals. I wish I were joking. A bottle of bleach was thrown in right next to frozen vegetables. Cross-contamination much? I shouldn’t have to inspect every bag like it’s a crime scene just to make sure dinner won’t double as a science experiment.
For a company of this size, basic food safety and bagging logic shouldn’t be too much to ask. It’s not just sloppy—it’s potentially dangerous.
Do...
