
My recent visit to SilverVine Room turned into a truly regrettable experience that I feel compelled to share as a caution to others. The level of service I received from both the stylist and the front desk was shockingly disappointing.
I had booked an appointment with Valerie for a keratin treatment with high hopes for a positive outcome. Unfortunately, my expectations were not only unmet but completely shattered. Valerie's execution of the keratin treatment was so subpar that my hair was left with an odd smell and a disastrous appearance. It's clear that the process was mishandled, leaving me frustrated and deeply dissatisfied.
To make matters worse, my interaction with MJ at the front desk only added to my disappointment. Not only was she rude and dismissive during our phone conversation while I was booking the appointment, but she also carried this demeanor into my in-person experience. A salon's front desk should be a place of welcoming and assistance, but MJ's behavior was anything but that. MJ also tried to charge my way extra than the original agreed price when I was on my way out the door, she did not take off the extra pricing until I made a big deal.
SilverVine Room's inability to deliver a satisfactory service, combined with the disrespectful treatment from MJ, has left me with a negative impression that I wouldn't wish upon anyone else. The salon failed both in terms of quality service and basic courtesy.
I strongly advise against choosing SilverVine Room for any hair care needs. My experience with Valerie's subpar work and MJ's unprofessional behavior highlights a severe lack of competence and customer respect. Read moreVery disappointing recent experience. Salon cancelled my appointment 7 minutes before it was scheduled to happen after I had already traveled out of NYC to the salon for the appointment. I get it, emergencies happen, no biggie. But they didn't call, just a text. No offer to rebook, no mention of additional availability. Not only that, but they suggested I would receive better customer service by physically visiting the salon. Upon visiting the salon, I was squeezed in later that afternoon but with a more expensive haircut, which they weren't transparent about the price difference. I proceeded to leave a private review explaining my unsatisfactory experience - they reached out, not via a call or any meaningful communication, but just via text and offered the price difference ($30) in the form of a gift code for a future purchase. A pretty tasteless offer for what was a really poor customer service experience. I expect more for such a high end salon. I'm more than happy to pay premium prices for quality work, but the customer service wasn't there and continued to be absent, even after making it privately known.
Please note, I had had good experiences with individual stylists prior to this event, so this is review is a reflection of the salon's poor customer service and communication, rather than the stylist.

Not only do I have a tricky Hair texture, but I also arrived to him a few years ago with box died black hair that I had been dying for over a decade. If you know you know… I loved having black hair, but my grays were making it impossible to maintain. I needed a change, even though I didn’t really want one.
Cameron patiently and thoughtfully turned me into a redhead, with no damage and (unbelievably) consistent compliments on my hair throughout my journey. For those of you who understand what that process looks like, you will know just how invaluable Cameron is. His cuts are excellent as well. And on top of his talent, he is the coolest and most lovely person and I look forward the time I spend in his chair.
