The hostess is friendly, until you accidentally lock yourself out of the house. At 10pm, I called and called and called to get in the house, and she finally came to the door obviously grumpy and pissed. I get it - I don't like being pulled out of bed either, but as a hostess of an Inn who lives on site, I imagine she ought to make herself available for any kinds of needs and emergencies... or at least have a keyless entry system.
Additionally, despite the numerous "No Smoking" signs throughout the older home, the stench of stale smoke radiated throughout from the hostess's quarters. "Continental breakfast" is laughable - you're much better off scoring some baked goods and delicious coffee from Boxwood Coffee or other business a short walk from the Inn.
The house and rooms are older, musty, and have basic amenities. The bed is comfortable, and the Inn is pet-friendly, but the walls are paper-thin and the floors quite creaky. I can appreciate a building with vintage charm, but this place just needs some updating. The only perks of the place are its location and reasonable price.
I felt so ashamed, so embarrassed, by the hostess' reaction to my accidentally locking myself out. I can't imagine ever returning to this Inn, and cannot recommend it to other travelers, despite the...
Read moreI visited Summit for a Christmas dinner with old friends. They stayed at the Grand Summit and I found the Turkey Hill Inn. Not only was it about 60 bucks cheaper, but the location was far better than the other place in terms of being closer to the main part of town. I walked not even 5 minutes to a bar and restaurant while the other crew had to Uber.
I parked right out front and picked up my room key as instructed by the owner (she sent me a note two days prior with check in instructions). I stayed in 1A, it was more like an apt than hotel room. Big living room with fridge and fire place and several seating areas. super charming stuff. bedroom was big and comfy with a large, full bathroom off of it.
Yes, the furniture and decor is outdated but it's really just the style they are going for. everything was super clean and comfortable with no disturbances. That's all that mattered to me. I wish I could have stayed several more days. Thanks...
Read moreI booked this room after reading reviews by others on Trip Advisor when we were in Summit before by son's wedding. I was not disappointed. The inn keeper called me a few days before our arrival to confirm we were coming and ask about our needs in order to decide which room to give us. They do not have an elevator so she wanted to know if we could climb stairs. I loved this personal touch. She gave us a room on the second floor that was very expansive with a sitting area, King bed and small bathroom. The room was so clean and tastefully deocrated. Small TV, microwave and compact refrigerator was also in the room . They have plenty of parking which was great and is within a few blocks of restuarants in downtown Summit. The street was very quiet. They do have window units but we didn't mind. I love that there was plenty of room for us to spread out!! So glad we picked this and...
