I am an unsatisfied customer and I only gave them one star because that was the lowest rating I could give. I purchased a 2010 Honda Accord EXL from Goodwin in May and in July my A/C began blowing hot air. I took my vehicle in to have the A/C serviced and was told that I had "impact damage" with the condenser, radiator and other essential parts were bent. The service manager explained that "I must have run over something OR sometimes a wrecker service may have hooked their tow truck up to my vehicle by mistake which could have caused such damage". I assured him that I did not run over anything nor did a tow truck have any reason to try to connect with my vehicle as my payments are current. He further insulted me by saying, "If it makes you feel any better, the A/C in my Lexus just went out too and I'm looking at $2K to have it repaired". My response to him was, "That story doesn't make me feel better, it actually makes me feel sad for the both of us." When I purchased the vehicle I was told that it had only been on the lot for three weeks, so I then began to inquire about how vehicles are checked out before being placed for sale. I then specifically asked how the staff member checked my A/C. I asked whether he just turned the A/C on from the inside and because it seemed okay he just checked the block or did he open the hood to actually look? I was told that the staff member whose job is to check out all newly acquired used vehicles actually goes through them like a "fine tooth comb, is meticulous and has been with Goodwin since November and they have not had one complaint". I inquired about Honda's Extended Warranty I purchased and was told that it would not pay the claim because of the "impact damage" and I should contact my automobile insurance and file a claim. I contacted my insurance company on the spot and explained that I brought my vehicle of only two months back to Goodwin Honda for an A/C service and shared what the service manager assessed the problem as. I made an appointment and took my vehicle in to the local body shop recommended by my insurance company and was told that my vehicle had been in an accident and the bumper had been replaced to cover the damage and the bumper was not even snapped on properly and over time could have fallen off. I asked if it was possible for me to have run over something to cause the amount of damage and was told that there is no way running over something could cause that damage without the bumper being damaged as well and it was a matter of time before the A/C would go out. For me, it was two months. I had my vehicle repaired to the tune of $1,500 through my automobile insurance. I would encourage anyone who purchases a used vehicle from Goodwin Honda to have your vehicle assessed by another service company before taking possession. Clearly, the staff member was not as meticulous in checking out my vehicle for the six months of his employment. I am also saddened that after all of this, Goodwin Honda charged me $119 for the A/C service that didn't happen. Overall, I am disappointed with Goodwin Honda's business practices of selling defective products and not taking responsibility for making things right. I will never bring my vehicle back to Goodwin for any services as I have no confidence in that dealership's ability to be honest, nor do they value customer's satisfaction. As a Military Family Member and having only lived in Sumter since October, this experience has left negative feelings about Goodwin Honda...
Read moreAt the beginning of this year, my car was totaled. That was a very devastating time for me. Everything started to happen so fast to where I needed a vehicle asap. So I decided to go to the dealership to look for a suv. The first time I went, I did some looking around but I was not planning on purchasing a vehicle. (It was a Wednesday and it was raining.) And I still wanted to do some shopping around and research. After doing my research I went back to the dealership the next day and salesman Kendrick Simmons introduce his self. He was a very kind man, made me feel comfortable, and showed a lot of empathy when it came to my car accident. He was very, very patient with me and answer all my questions.(I had a lot of crazy questions, lol)
He has great communication skills and is very knowledgeable. He helped me a lot when it came to choosing the right vehicle for me. I was stuck with choosing a 2024 CRV EX or a 2024 CRV hybrid sport. But I really wanted the hybrid. I did my research on the hybrid and also with the pricing. And everything Mr.Simmons told me was correct. I called him Friday to ask some more questions and he was willing to work things out with me, so I can feel comfortable with my purchase. So that Friday, I became a proud owner of a 2024 Honda CRV Hybrid Sport. This will be my third car I have purchased at a dealership and this was actually the first time I had a great experience purchasing a car.
Everything Mr. Simmons told me about my CRV was true. A great vehicle overall and great on gas/mileage. So many features and great safety features. (The seats recline in the back!) I feel very comfortable with my daughter driving my vehicle because of the safety features.
Another thing I will like to say about Mr. Simmons is after I purchase my CRV, I did not have time for him to show me all the features about it. So, he told me that I can come back and he will explain all the features to me. I had my vehicle almost a month before I went back to the dealership. And even after the month he still took his time with me and explain everything to me.
This was a great experience for me and after talking to my father and the men in my family. They let me know I made a great purchase and Mr. Simmons was a...

I was not really in the market for a new car yet, since my last purchase was slightly over one year ago from Freedom Honda of Sumter SC. Over the last four years I have traded in and purchased five vehicles, all from Freedom Honda and all with the help of salesman Alywin (Duke) Singleton. Mr. Singleton, or Duke as he prefers to be called, is a salesman who displays astonishing reasoning and expert knowledge in weighing out the various options and benefits accorded by the various models, styles, option packages, and even colors of available vehicles on the lot or that could be ordered, to fit the specific wants, needs and/or desires of any particular perspective customer he engages. During a routine maintenance visit with my former vehicle, I ran into Duke, during general conversation, I expressed to him that due to the steadily increasing price of gas, I was thinking about switching over to an Electric Vehicle (EV) within the next few years or so but had reservations about the availability of EV stations and the time it would take to recharge. He immediately suggested instead of going total EV why not try out a Hybrid, of which there was one on the lot. Duke then accompanied me on a test drive of the hybrid, I was very impressed but still not ready to make the trade at that time. A couple of months later he sent me a text and pictures of a hybrid similar in style, options package, and even color of my former vehicle and informed me that he and Ms. Theresa Radcliffe could more than likely work out a deal for me that would have in a me new car within a day or so, he/they were as good as their word, as on October 10, 2023, I became the proud owner of a brand new 2024 Red Honda Accord Hybrid Sport L, and I could not be more happier or pleased, for this car is everything that I've wanted in a new vehicle, only earlier than what I...
