Kahramana Mediterranean Market — Local services in Sun City

We shopped here today finally, after seeing it in passing for so many weeks! I live not too far from this location and am so glad to have this store close by! Other stores carrying Mediterranean items are further away from me, so I don’t go as often as I like for these “specialty” items that my family loves!! We were pleasantly surprised to find EVERYTHING we wanted today! Even halal chicken! I prefer halal meats because they are clean, and the animals are treated in a special way. They offered to cut apart the chicken pieces for me, and trimmed the fat, which I very much appreciated! There is a small produce section but it had exactly what we needed to make dinner today! I was able to find my favorite brand of Bulgarian White Cheese, Arabic Bread, and Vimto soda! (You must try Vimto if you never had it before, so yummy!) I will be shopping here for meats and many other items regularly! Very excited for this market at this location so...

Kahramana Mediterranean Market at 10001 W. Bell Rd. at Sun City Promenade has all sorts of wonderful treats like baklava, halva, etc., but this time I got some samoon pita(shown in picture) which is like pita but has slightly different texture and taste. When I sliced it an put it in the toaster, man was it good. Its little pocket makes it perfect for stuffing with whatever. I think the leavening may be yogurt rather than yeast--at least that's what the ones I used to get elsewhere were made with. The store is clean and neatly organized. When I went, the workers were busy talking on the phone and to other customers so I wasn't able to ask questions. Maybe next time. With so many exotic items, it would be good to have assistants available to offer more assistance as many in this area are not familiar with this cuisine and undoubtedly would have more questions and would benefit with suggestions and some guidance to feel...

We just stopped in to Kahramana for the first time today after seeing it from the road for the past couple of months and we are so glad we did. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and everyone working there was super friendly and made sure to greet us and let us know if we needed any help to reach out. They also were kind enough to answer questions and educate about the products. And boy were they right about the date syrup and tahini going together well. The store is packed with so many awesome varieties of teas, grains, fresh and canned vegetables and fruits. The prices are all very reasonable and it feels a bit like shopping in 2019 again. The store made hummus is amazing and packed with flavor. Kahramana Mediterranean Market is the first market/grocer I’ve been to in a while that feels like it has a soul and it is so refreshing.
