During their soft opening, went for to-go okra soup, which was good for sure, but could've used some more flavor, but something different for this area, so it's good to have homemade soup available. My friend got the white beans soup and was quite content with that.
Went a second time with two friends for dinner but was disappointed there were no booths so it was hard to buffer the noise from a long table where there were squealing children so it was not a dining hour atmosphere like we were expecting wherein we could have quiet conversation and savor Mediterranean food since it felt like a lunch room, so we had to leave before ordering, but by golly, the menu looked very appealing.
We would have sat outside which is a very pleasant area but it was too windy. This area eventually could be even better if enhanced with the wall fountain functioning, and maybe even a central cooling fountain added as well, along with plantings like cypress and dwarf palms to add to the ambiance. This place has the potential for being THE go-to oasis in Sun City and I can envision it being a regular spot to meet up with friends over cool minty drinks with or without a meal. What puts it above many outdoor dining areas around here is that it is set back enough from Bell Road so the traffic sound is not overwhelming and thankfully lacks that annoying "whoosh." May the oasis...
Read moreCame here on Thursday for the first time. Ordered the gyros 🥙 that came with french fries and a bowl of lintel soup. The restaurant is spacious, and a bit loud with the music that’s playing. There’s a patio with outdoor seating. The soup arrived to start the meal. It was very good. The sandwich then arrived. The fries were amazing as they were hot and crispy. There was a small ramekin with ketchup. The right amount; even though I couldn’t finish them all. The gyros was good. Flavorful meat that was tender, and had a slight char. The onions and tomatoes were sliced right… thin for the white onions, and half moon wedge slices for the tomatoes. The amount of sauce was nice, because the extra sauce that came in a small ramekin didn’t taste well to my liking. Not sure why so many places here in Phoenix blunder making tzatziki sauce. Loads of room for improvement. To drink I had Coca Cola. No fountain; only cans. To finish off my lunch I tried their baklava. It was small, and yet very good with the filo pastry, chopped nuts, and taste of honey. A pleasant lunch. The irony behind discovering this place is that I was at Hanging Gardens across the street, and west of this location. Both places serve good gyros, and lentil soup. I’m inclined to go to Hanging Gardens as they have a fountain instead of cans. You decide which...
Read moreThis restaurant absolutely blew me away. I ordered the combo plate, mint lemonade, and yogurt cucumber salad—and every bite was perfection. The flavors were incredibly fresh and authentic, just like something you'd find in a traditional home kitchen.
The mint lemonade was refreshing with the perfect balance of sweetness and citrus, and the yogurt cucumber salad was cool, creamy, and seasoned beautifully. The combo plate was generous and packed with a delicious variety of meats, rice, and savory sides that left me fully satisfied.
On top of the amazing food, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and full of character—just the kind of place you want to sit and stay a while. Whether you're a fan of Middle Eastern cuisine or new to it, this spot is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back!
I seriously cannot emphasize how good this drink was, it's the most refreshing thing on a hot summer...
