I had two vastly different experiences at Setterberg Jewelers. In the first, I dropped off six watches-all needed batteries and ordered one new leather band. I was texted that all were done in 24 hrs, worked, were cleaned, and looked beautiful.
In the second experience, I dropped off another six watches. All but one that was solar needed batteries, and three needed links taken out. I dropped them off on a Monday and was told they'd be ready on Friday. I called at 1:30p.m. Friday and was told they were "finishing up the last two watches." Having errands to run, I stopped by a couple hours later, and was going to at least pay for and pick up the four watches I was told were done. When I gave my receipt for pick up, there were 5 or 6 employees--no customers in the store. It took the employee several minutes to come back out and then it appeared that suddenly all of the employees were involved. I was brought one watch. It wasn't cleaned, nor was the date set, and I'm not even sure it was on the right time.
At that point, it was obvious that none of the watches had been worked on until I walked in. I asked why I was told that there were only two watches not done, and was told: "it's our busiest day," "we're training," "this watch is really difficult." I told the manager that the whole point was that nothing was communicated to me that they needed more time, and that none of the watches were done. I stated that doing so was dishonest and misleading. The manager said: "We didn't know you were coming by," and "I don't know who you spoke to, but I'll talk to the staff." This doesn't resolve the dishonest statements.
In the end, I just asked for all of my watches back. One had links taken out and fit me, and was solar, so didn't need a battery. I was able to walk out with one working watch, (not cleaned.) I was told that two of the watches didn't work, but I will verify that with another jeweler, as I don't know if they actually installed a battery.
I wasn't charged for any work, (of course, very little was done), and told the manager, that despite her offer to finish my watches for free, I couldn't give my business to a jeweler I couldn't trust. It's a shame because the first set of watches turned out so beautifully. The one star rating is due to the dishonest and misleading statements-which is...
Read moreAs a man buying jewelry for a significant other is one of the situations that, before coming to Setterberg, was one of the situations where I felt really out of my element. My at the time girlfriend and I stopped by one day so we could see what size she was. The store owner Kim sat down with us to help us find out, which cut she liked, see the styles of rings that were appealing to her, as well as educate us. Before shopping I had spent a couple hours online doing research on the ring buying process and I learned more from Kim in 30 min than I did educating myself. After our initial meeting I stopped by 2 or 3 more times to meet with Kim so I could decide on a Diamond to purchase and design a custom band for it to sit on. Since getting the engagement ring I have made 3 more purchases from Setterberg Jewelers and I can’t imagine buying jewelry anywhere else. Prior to shopping here I felt very uneasy throughout the jewelry buying process. Other stores have been very pushy with certain items with me or pressing financing options to sell me one of the more expensive items there. My wife and I could not be happier with our all around experience at this store. They have earned my loyalty. Thank you Kim, and your team for always taking care of us. I’m sure I will see y’all again...
Read moreI am beyond happy with the customer service I received. The instant I walked in, Kayla greeted me with a big smile and asked how she could help me. I explained my situation and she listened to me and suggested a few things. She explained very well. She explained the jewelry cases before I even looked at any. I can go into a long drawn story, but l won't. She addressed my issues with the owner/Jeweler Kymberlee. She came out talk to me. She not only explained so many things, answered all my question but was honest, listened to my concerns. Professional, and genuinely caring! Kymberlee worked it out for me, knowing how much I wanted my dream ring! Not only did she take the $100 appraisal fee off. My diamond on my wedding solitaire was loose and they tightened it. She sized my ring. They polished my rings. At no charge! They sent me off with a bag of cleaning supplies. Explained how to use them. And gave me chocolates. I love these ladies! I love this place! My heart is happy!! I am in love with my ring! It is absolutely stunning!! When you are not feeling heard or feeling bad for being undecisive with your past jeweler. Walking out feeling mislead is not what you want. You want a relationship with your jeweler. Just like you do with your personal hair dresser, your...
