I had an absolutely dreadful experience at Fashion Corner and Corset House, which I feel compelled to share to prevent other brides from facing similar nightmares.
From the start, the bridal consultant disregarded my preferences and brought me dresses that were the complete opposite of what I wanted. My mother had to step in and pick out dresses for me, which is when we found one I really liked. However, it was many sizes too big. Despite our concerns, the consultant and sales ladies assured us that this wouldn't be an issue, claiming it would be an easy fix for their tailor. Feeling anxious, defeated, and frustrated, I reluctantly said yes to the large dress, trusting their expertise. They assured us the alterations would cost between $200 to $300.
When we visited their tailor, she informed us that it would be nearly impossible to make the dress fit properly and repeatedly questioned why I didn’t get a smaller size. As if I would choose a dress that was too big! After three months of work, the tailor delivered a dress that was a disaster. One side was 18 inches longer than the other, there was butchered lace, loose strings, and literal holes in my wedding dress. The fit was awkward, and she added large fake padding, which I did not want. My mother has minimal tailoring experience and tried many times to discuss what could be better with seamstress, but we were both repetitively shut down. To top it off, they charged us almost $500 for these shoddy alterations.
Throughout the process, the tailor constantly tried to tell me what I wanted and even body-shamed me for not having larger breasts, insisting that I needed them. It was incredibly upsetting and unprofessional.
In the end, my mother, bless her heart, did an incredible amount of work to make the dress fit perfectly, fixing holes, lace, hemming, and Etc. She made it fit like a glove and even did the bustle herself. I don’t know where I would be without her. My mom gets a five-star review.
It’s clear to me that Fashion Corner and Corset House have little integrity and no genuine interest in fulfilling a bride's dreams. They are willing to lie to make a sale, a nonrefundable expensive sale at that. A wedding dress is supposed to be the highlight of planning a wedding, something I’ve looked forward to since I was a child, avidly watching Say Yes to the Dress. Sadly, this experience was the worst part of my wedding planning – a sad, terrifying, expensive, and...
Read moreWent there for a Mother of the bride dress. I honestly feel they didn't care as I was not with a wedding party where they could rake in the bucks. This causes alarm bells...will they care when things go wrong and they have your money?
Mom's, I suggest you go there alone and see what treatment you get before you decide to purchase all the wedding attire here.
I found dresses on my own, asked for assistance zipping the back of a dress, stated "I guess I need a size bigger". She walked away without a word.
I continued locating other dresses, as I just drove an hour to get there. With arms full, I headed to the dressing room again. A hanger caught another dress, I was chastised and she implied that I would have had to pay for it if it would have damaged the dress... Maybe they should have been helping me. I should have left right then. Next I was told I could only have 3 dresses at a time in the dressing room. They weren't helping me so that means getting dressed and going back out for the other two (were they worried someone could steal full size gowns?).
At the end of trying on those, I asked if they had any other cream or brown dresses in a size that might fit. The response was "I think you tried on all we had, and as you can see we are pretty busy". They were busy but not that busy. Either way, that's no way to treat or respond to customers.
After all of this, I left and went down the road to the Corset House where I was waited on and had the best experience EVER. From one extreme to...
Read moreDO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, this place is such a disaster with HORRIBLE service. Not only did they need to fix my dress 3 times but they also LOST the Maid of Honor's dress. The wedding is this Saturday Sept. 7 and they couldn't find her dress.
We went to look at bridesmaid dresses May 4th. The lady helping us, IRENE, had a lot of opinions about our dress choices to begin with. Our dresses got here late July, which we were aware of due to them being shipped. We show up August 3rd to get fitted. I had some adjustments needed on my chest area and the bottom was going to be hemmed.
I got a call on August 16th that my dress was ready for pick up. I tried it on and I couldn't take a full deep breath because of how tight the dress was. Irene was being very unprofessional and mentioned how I gained weight and that is the reason why my dress didn't fit. They didn't take into accountability for their mistakes but were so quick to blame ME.
I left it to get fixed AGAIN and I went back August 21st, the dress was still tight and I left it for the 3rd time. I finally went to pick it up on August 27th and my dress fit so much better.
LUZ is so amazing and she was really understanding BUT Irene and the other workers were so unprofessional and judgmental. Definitely will not be going back in the future. Terrible service and...
