My husband and I have been involved in animal rescue for years.
Myself for over twenty. But we try not to bite off more than we can chew and always try to do what’s right by our pups. We don’t foster. We are furever homes.
Recently, we took on a beautiful girl that has been through “who knows what”, and in the middle of an extremely busy week at work, had a sudden downturn. Leading to vet appointments, learning new things and leading us to Houndstown for a holistic food option for the diagnosis we weren’t expecting, and had never had to treat before without medication.
The type of diet and food plan recommended by the rescue groups regular vet, the holistic vet is not only working for both our girls. But I can swing by and get what I need easily.
The amazing turnaround in a week between all of this for the sick one has eased my soul, the easy pickup option of the food has eased my work/life balance and the cost is not anymore than a couple dollars a day than the premium kibble they were both already on.
We are already reducing the meds and seeing a massive change back to her old self.
Highly, highly recommend this for dog lovers than want quality, ease, affordability and more.

Read moreAwesome location (just around the corner from home) they do boarding at competitive pricing. We were there for my dogs nail trim, the staff was friendly and answered my questions as they were evaluating my dog.
We were able to observe several dogs playing together in an enclosed area. They seemed happy, didn't look stressed out at all. Since we didn't need boarding, we didn't tour the facility, but could see most of it from the front entrance area. The floors were clean and no messes were laying about.
At the front desk there are cameras, we were able to observe the employees interaction with our dog, everything went very well. The staff listened when I suggested our dog doesn't like clippers, but is ok with the dremmel. Her nails are looking nice again!
We will definitely be bringing our dog back for a shampoo with her next nail trim.

Read moreOur dog goes to Hounds Town for daycare once or twice a month, and looooves it every time. He knows the word “daycare” now and runs to the door. I like that they have to do a behavioral test before they can attend daycare, and I trust that it’s a safe place for him to get his energy out. Added benefit is that he is sooo tired the whole next day, so it’s like having two days in a row of calm.
The staff are all so friendly and they learn all of the dogs’ names so quickly, I think whoever runs Houndstown knows how to pick employees who actually love dogs, and it shows! Bethany is usually the one who answers my calls/questions and has always been incredibly kind and informative, we really appreciate her!
Lastly, every dog should go for the paw-ty they throw once a month because the keepsake Polaroids are so...
