Maker Nexus — Local services in Sunnyvale

As someone who's been crafting for the last 40 years, I find this place to be inspirational! So many fun new things to learn and old skills to dust off. No matter what it is that YOU would like to make, Nexus most likely has a class for you. Want to learn to do 3D printing? I did that class tonight! The instructor Owen was very thorough in his preparing us to use several different varieties of 3D printers. Very much enjoyed the class and now I feel confident that I can use the 3D printers in the makerspace as well as the one I have at home. I am looking forward to taking other classes here. The range of things you can try here is pretty astounding! Something I did not expect was how diverse this group of people is and how welcoming they are. Every time you go there you're going to bump into someone who's making something super cool and they're happy to tell you about it. Waiting for my class I had the chance to talk to some makers who had 3D printed their own sock knitting devices. Super cool and fun conversation for sure. MakerNexus has all the tools to let my creativity flourish. My recent projects involved 3D printers and a laser cutter building a mechanical machine; table saw, planer, jointer and sander to build a cutting board; a CNC machine to craft wood I needed with special shapes; a lathe to make a pen for the special One in my life; also learned sewing on the sewing machine to make face masks (pandemic year 2020).

In particular w.r.t 2020 they made arrangements that things are safe and healthy.

There is no experience quite exactly like your first time seeing the inside of a real public makerspace (and I've seen several). ...The machines in action, the design software, and people of every background using all of it, in between sitting comfortably and brainstorming up BIG ideas to share and even collaborate on. And no makerspace I've ever seen has more potential (and hardware!) to help a person make anything from scratch that their mind can think of into a reality than Maker Nexus... You have to see it...
