Just got back from a trip today for a work outing. I'm rating a hesitant 2, because while it was good, I don't know that I'd call it "very good". It was a little better than just "good" though so 2 it is.
Reasons why: Overall it was a nice park, middle of the work day so not a lot of people but still enough that you don't feel like the place is abandoned. Didn't have to pay for parking and it was right next to our tables so that was also good. There's a nice little area between the trees where you could just hear birds and the breeze blowing which made for a relaxing visit. I have IBS so accessible restrooms are important to me. These were right next our tables, and surprisingly clean and well stocked. They could use a paint upgrade but overall I was pleased and comfortable with the bathrooms. The trails are nice to hike and bike and we even saw some wildlife.
The main reason why I can't give this park a 3 rating is because there was dog poop in a lot of the grassy areas and paths. Once you found an area that was free of poop then it was great but having to walk around the poop the rest of the time felt like trying to avoid mines, some areas were...
Read moreIf you are looking for a fun outdoor experience, look no further than the Sunnyvale Baylands. This park has kid friendly playgrounds, hiking trails, and a bike/run trail for those wanting a sceenic run along the wetlands!
One of the things I love about this park is how family friendly it is. There are a few scattered playgrounds throughout the park, so your little ones can run around and burn off some energy (which is dad code for a better night's sleep).
Sunnyvale Baylands is also a great spot for picnics and BBQs, with plenty of open space and picnic tables available. It is rare to see so many BBQ pits next to each other and each with large circular seating benches. You can have a large gathering here. The standard $6 entrance fee is a government standard for all the amenities and activities you get to enjoy, and the restroom facilities are conveniently located by the playground.
Just a heads up; the men's restroom requires a bit of extra effort to open.
Dogs are not allowed (deal breaker for my family).
Make sure to add Sunnyvale Baylands to your list of must-visit parks (see it at least once...
Read moreOf course we appreciat3r the open space that includes a body of hwitter I would appreciate it if they added hwitter yo the trees more. Thetrees looked parched and all ouver the bay area the trees are robust and green green green. That tells me that this park needs ahwitter truck to drive around and tree by tree. I know it sounds a little tedious but it would bee worth it and the trees would adore you for that if only the ones in thee parking lot with their own square footage. Those would bee more accessible to the truck. Other than that tons of picnic spacem with rest room bungalows for every acre xcept rhe last two in both ends which i really saw no true reason for but park administrators...
