Sunset Blue — Local services in Sunset Beach

i went into that store and i was grossly disrespected. I’ev been going to this beach for my whole life and i’ve been in that store a number of times. the younger man working there is incredibly nice and he has nothing to do with this review, but the women who works there is extremely rude. yesterday i went into the store to look around and the whole time she had her eyes on me. i was alone so i felt rather uncomfortable. i would walk and she would be right behind me. i would move and there she was agian. so tonight i walked back over with a couple of my cousins just to look around. me and my cousin were looking at the water bottle and looking inside to see if they were metal, and just being curious about our potential future purchases. the women had also been following me around this night too. anyways, i opened one of the bottles and the women said “don’t take those stickers out”. i looked up at her and said “oh i wasn’t i was just looking inside at them. here you can make sure and look” and i tilled the bottle so she could see everything was inside. i then began to walk out and i said “have a nice day ma’am” in a totally normal tone with NO sass, and she’s replied with “you too” then under her breath she said “or at least try to”. i walked out shocked, but i carried on walking. she then FOLLOWED me out of the store and said “there’s one missing! you didn’t take it?” and i said “no ma’am look!” and emptied my pockets infrount of her. i can’t believe the amount of rudeness, the assumptions that were made of me, and i hope this doesn’t go unnoticed by whomever...

Bought a ‘quality’ bodyboard here on Saturday and within a few days the back was peeling off. They were completely dismissive in exchanging it even tho it was clear it was coming off when it shouldn’t have. What a joke. The woman up front was pretty dismissive from the jump and offered to sell me another one at a discount instead of exchanging it and working with the manufacturer to clearly replace something that was defective. Buyer beware. Happy to take your money but not stand behind the products they sell.

Update - Adam got in touch and talked through everything. Definitely cannot hold it against them for having a policy that people cannot just bring their stuff back and essentially rent a board for free for the week. Easy to see how that can be taken advantage of. We made the exchange since it was clearly a defect in the manufacturing.

This is our 4th board bought from here and to date everything was smooth sailing. Happy to see this made right as well....

DO NOT BUY! BEWARE EXTRA FEE tacked on to your purchase by credit card. I purchased some beach toys 2 days ago & my receipt stated $35.18 (including tax). I looked at my checking acct. which showed $36.41 charge. Weird. A difference of $1.23. I then go in to the place & inquire on why the difference. The manager lady assured me that both of us were having to pay a fee. I feel soooo much better knowing that we are both being reamed. I said there should be a sign at the front counter where you stand to make the purchase. The guy in there pointed to a small sign on the side of the cash register. You’re kidding me. The lady then said everybody is having to do this. My guess is that is part of doing business & is or should included in the markup. My point: they don’t make it clear that you will be charged a fee for the privilege of using a card. I used my debit card & I don't remember being asked if it was a debit or credit charge. I will NOT be back....
